Christmas chameleon list!

A bit early? yeah , but what the heck!

If Santa was to bring you one chameleon for christmas . What would it be?

For me? Melleri!

I've recently added a melleri to the family, and he/she seems very happy, non-confrontational, and even a little bit friendly only two weeks later.

It is wild caught, but the people i bought from treated it for parasites. My vet set us up on a second treatment just to be safe. I would recommend getting the little guy checked just the same, since they're usually imported.

Humidity should be anywhere from 50-80%, though it's debatable. Calcium w/o D3 supplement every day, multi-vitamins and calcium w/ D3 twice a month, typical feeders (crix, mealworms, roaches). 50watt basking light, and 5.0 uvb bulb for the ambient. Live plants are always encouraged, spray down with a mild soap-water mixture and rinse thoroughly to eliminate any pesticides. It's very basic chameleon stuff, really.

The site that kmb89 posted is a terrific resource. I used it when I was thinking of getting a Mellers, but changed my mind because I live in the prairies of Alberta and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to keep the humidity as high as I had read they need it. (also, I was told it was a challenge to try to find one in Canada...)

May want to be careful with supplements, Melleri are known to be sensitive.

Melleri discovery is a great place for information
