Mellers clutch hatchlings update 3 months old now

Hi All!

Well, it's been 3 months now since my mellers chameleons hatched, and I'm very happy to report that I haven't lost a single one!

All 32 are still going strong.

I thought I'd post some pics for their 3 month birthdays.

You can compare with hatchling pics here and with 2 month old pics here to watch them grow!

There has been more variance this past month in growth rate compared to the first 2 months, in spite of keeping similar sized individuals 4 per cage spread over 8 cages the past couple of months. It's been interesting because it seems to be happening in thirds- about a 3rd really accelerated dramatically in growth rate, then about a third are slower, with about a third in between. Variance in growth rate among clutchmates is, of course, pretty normal for most lizards- the smallest are still looking very strong and healthy here.

Just one more month to go until these are ready to move on to their new homes!

i have to say that i am not easily impressed, but i am fond of mellers and i would be lying if i did not admit to being ultra impressed ! a 100% viable clutch of mellers is quite an accomplishment. it takes more than luck to accomplish that. you must be doing something(most things) right, yes even the healthiest of clutches usually have different size groupings. i would get one myself if my situation were different. hopefully the homes they are going to will be able to provide as good of care as you have, well done

I can remember when the idea of a true cbb melleri just didn't exist. Most people who had tried keeping a melleri reported nothing but doom and gloom. It is so GREAT to see these healthy little guys doing so well! Congratulations (though I shudder at the thought of keeping 32 growing melleri fed!!!!!)
