Mercury Vapor Lighting?

I don't have a meter to measure the UVB/UVA output of my lights. However, I was told that the linear bulbs don't produce enough UVB/UVA to penetrate my wire mesh cage and still be adequate. Anyways, I just purchased my new sets of linear bulbs, so I should be set for at least a few months. Although I am strongly considering ulterior lighting for my lil chamy's. Specifically a Vapor Bulb.

The info on the linear bulb is incorrect...If its a Reptisun, thats been the standard for years. You just have to move your branch closer to it if its being filtered thru screen;)
This is my take on lighting...useing what we have had in the past till now. Im no expert but have done lots of reasearch & The newest Hoods from Zoo Med have a Tube bulb in the middle with basking heat only off to the sides.. This allows your cham to move away from the UVB & have only heat if thats what they want. A Mecury bulb cant do that...its All or nothing. I live in Wisconsin... So... most of the year outside sunning doesnt exist! My cham moves around to what he wants at different times.... After he eats he will hit the heat... then go get some UVB.....Then maybe just go cruising for a good spot to take a sip from his dripper. Since he is in his cage most of the time I feel my lighting set up gives him the most comfortable environment I can provide. If these new bulbs can improve on that Im willing to give them a shot! Will the D3+ T5 HO bulb fit in my New Zoo Med 36" hood? It takes a 24" tube bulb. If so, Should I still adjust my basking branch at mid to high 30's on my meter? Thanx Dave
