It is the same cham. He hasn't lost any toenails on that foot but he does have a loose nail on it. I suppose that could be the cause, but he lost four nails on his front feet before we could manage to get something larger to line the mesh that was too small. He never did this with any of the others.Is this the same animal that lost toenails in another thread. Is it possible that the foot has become infected from the lost nails?
Okay, thank you so much. I'm going to try my best to get him to a vet, but until then, I'll make sure he's getting lots of water.Gout is a systemic problem usually associated with kidney failure. Hydration to help flush the kidneys would be your only at home first aid.
If the nail isn't infected you could be looking at an injury from a fall.
The vet is your best bet in any of these scenarios.
