This morning I noticed my male veiled (about 8 months old) hanging one of his back legs off the branch he was perched on. I thought nothing of it until I came home to see it again. I did my research and from everything I've read, it looks like gout. We are going to try and take him to a vet, but unfortunately there are none nearby that treat reptiles, so we've got to work out who we're going to. For anyone who has had a cham with gout before or just knows what it looks like, does this look like he may have gout? He won't put pressure on it, barely grips anything with it when he rarely does use that foot, and I think he's losing his appetite. He's still drinking, however. Please, any help would be amazing. He's my first cham and I'm still new to this. Here are some pics

Is this the same animal that lost toenails in another thread. Is it possible that the foot has become infected from the lost nails?

It is the same cham. He hasn't lost any toenails on that foot but he does have a loose nail on it. I suppose that could be the cause, but he lost four nails on his front feet before we could manage to get something larger to line the mesh that was too small. He never did this with any of the others.

Gout is a systemic problem usually associated with kidney failure. Hydration to help flush the kidneys would be your only at home first aid.
If the nail isn't infected you could be looking at an injury from a fall.
The vet is your best bet in any of these scenarios.

Okay, thank you so much. I'm going to try my best to get him to a vet, but until then, I'll make sure he's getting lots of water.
