missing toe nails!

My 10-11month old male Veiled's 3 back left toes are gone. Its only on that foot- and the skin around it isn't puffy so im hoping no infection. I read to put Neosporin on his open toes? I'm concerned why they are missing in the first place-and worried it will be harmful or hurtful for him. He is eating normal and everything else is normal. Will these toe nails grow back??? I don't believe nail shedding is common?
Please help.

they probably are missing due to him trying to walk on the screen of your cage if you have a screen cage.

How do you guys keep them from walking on the screen cages?

They most likely won't grow back. Use polysporin without pain relief.

Yes have glass cage with screen up top which he likes to climb on but hes not up there that often.
Worried. Thinking I should I take him to exotic animal vet that sees chameleons just for check up since hes never had one.
($55 for exam only...about right?)
