I think Im finally going to get a mister for my chameleon enclosure... Im curious which one u guys prefer? i only need the basic Mist King and I was comparing the price of that unit after shipping it would be around the same price at the Aquazamp ... Thoughts? Which one is easier to set up as well? Do chams prefer mist or the rain dome ? Which one has a better and more quiet pump?

I have the AZ. Very easy installation and the raindome is sweet. Some chams don't like direct misting, but they will sit under the drops from the raindome. +1 for AZ... :)

I love my aquazamp I highly recommend it. It is great quality (made in the US) for an affordable price and my chameleons love the rain dome. Misting system will be the greatest investment you make aside from your chameleon. Having a mister is the best thing anyone can ask for. You don't have to worry about spraying all the time. Also once the misting on the rain domes stops the chameleon still has an opportunity to drink from the water drops that the rain dome leaves on top of the screen enclosure.:D great costumer service as well!

Mistking is amazing. Absolutely amazing. Super quiet, relatively easy to set up, and can mist multiple cages at once, or even just set up on different angles on the cage so the whole thing gets wet. Though that is unnecessary xD Unless you have a massive and i mean MASSIVE cage

Maybe I should get that. I have a MistKing, and no one seems to get much out of it except getting everything wet!

Noogie enjoys it when I use my mist bottle and spray above him, causing rain like drops to fall on him.
They also like the water warmed up. So I keep a Ultratherm (Bean Farm) heating mat plugged in and just sit the water mister bottles on that to keep them nice and warm.

If I could only find a system that would mimic a nice warm, tropical rain, I would be happy.
I dont think there is such a thing, but I suppose I could do a custom job :)
Maybe wrap heat tape around the water resivour I have for the MistKing

I love my Mistking system. It has been great and does exactly what I need it to do. I got two dual misting nozzles and can direct the water all around the enclosure which allows the plants and vines to get a good shower a few times a day. Plenty of drinking opportunities no matter where Zaphod is in his home.

Why not just put a small aquarium heater in the resevoir, or under it?

I have both systems. I like each one for different reasons. I would buy my next one based on price.

mistking takes it on the power cord.
mistking takes it on the timer.
mistking has better misting nozzles
mistking zip drip is worthless (for me)
The AZ is slightly easier to setup.
Both have great support.
I prefer "little dripper" over the Mistking rain system and the AZ rain dome.

I have AZ. I removed the 2 injectors from the rain dome and installed them in side the cage because my 2 plants are 2ft apart. The misting is allmost a fogging so the humidity sky rockets. The cham is at a lower level so he just gets wet from the run off of the leaves. First time i ever seen him kick his chops to drink! No leaks from day 1, and the the pump gets real quiet after about 2 tank fulls of water.

I might be missing something, but isn't the rain dome basically something like a plastic tub turned upside down where the nozzle sprays into the tub making water droplets form on the screen so that the water drips like rain? If you had a mistking, couldn't you just make your own raindome? Then you could have the benefits of both. One nozzle that mists the cage (as I understand it, the mistking is the best for humidity), and one in a "dome" to create rain?

If I'm wrong, please correct me. I haven't seen the rain dome up close and I am also trying to decide which is better for my needs.

Nope you are right. The basic AZ is just as you said, and upside down bucket. The premium dome is like a light hood with 2 misters in it instead of one.

I have this for my MistKing, is it the same thing?
