Mist king woes.....

Got my mist king set up yesterday and although I love having it I cannot get it to where it sprays the entire enclosure. I have a pothos that hangs up top and it seems to be the only thing that gets it. Now I know it drips from the leaves and maybe that will be enough but I worry I am not using it as efficiently as I could. Maybe I need to get another head and put it midway on the back. Hmmmm, any thoughts. I am sure it is probably doing fine but I would like to see the entire enclosure wet and right now my ficus is not getting much. I don't want to change the pothos as he really likes that plant and it gives him something near the top.
Right now it also sprays directly on his basking branch which kind of ticked him off today....LOL. It was the first time he experienced it though so maybe he will get use to it. The cage is a 24x24x48 so not much option unless I point it directly towards the front.
There also looks like there is something blowing it to one side ( when it is on you see where it looks like it is being pushed to one side almost like there is a fan on near it) ...not sure if that make since but there is not a vent or anything near that would cause this.

This doesnt really solve your problem but if you get a raindome attachment chams will go nuts for it they will run up and sit under it and drink but it doesnt do to much for humidity though but the mister should take care of that though...

The pressure from the mist can cause a "current" from the air moving. This is normal. How many nozzles do you have? I set mine up with two double nozzles to be able to have more flexibility in aiming. It does a great job getting all the plants wet. You may have to experiment a bit with where you have aimed the nozzle to get the desired results. :)

Hmmmm. Another nozzle would mean a wetter enclosure but I think it's good to have areas that don't get wet. Then if your cham chooses not to get wet then they can escape from the mist area.

Cham will get used to and know to go to the area that does get wet if they choose to drink or they fancy a nice shower LOL

Can you post a vid or pics??

I had a DIY rain system and he tends to prefer the spray, well from a spray bottle anyway. Hence the reason I got the mist king.
I don't have a problem with him drinking. He will drink every time I spray him. But of course I get all the plants when I use a hand sprayer.
The DIY rain system I made brings the humidity up too but I don't use it right now since I got the mistking

I have one adjustable nozzle but don't have a lot of options as far as pointing it. Wherever I points it tends to hit the pothos more than anything, which is ok, I just thought maybe it would be nice if it hit some of the other plants as well.

Yeah makes since, as the first time it came on he was like...holy crap, I am out of here...LOL. He is use to seeing it come from my hand sprayer.
Yes I just took pics see below. It may be no big deal, like you said probably good to have some area dryer.

Sorry kind if blurry but it is in the top right corner. If you look close you can see Waldo basking on his basking branch on the left top by the dripper line.

This gives you an idea of the whole enclosure.

Hi ya

Place the nozzle in the middle ov the cage at the centre on the top using a plastic runner this will make sure all cage is wet and dripping as the nozzle is pointing down over.

Would prefer not to put the nozzle in the middle as I don't really have room between my domes and my UV for a strip of acrylic. I think I will leave it be for a few days and see how it goes, then I may add a second nozzle on the other side if need be. I also still hand mist one time a day just for the interaction of it.

Thanks all

When I used my mist king as a mister I had 2 nozzles. I think my guys prefer rain so I bought tubing and made double rain attachments instead.

I ordered another nozzle and more tubing so I may make one a rain and one misting....we will see. I still like to hand mist when I can so that helps. Things get plenty wet with the one but only up top.

I will either attach the other nozzle mid way on the left side panel near the back or make it a rain attachment.

The one already installed is in blue and the other one I was thinking of putting indicated by red. Either that or a rain attachment.

I think I worked it out. I ended up turning the head all the way around so it misses misting his basking spot directly. Just took some trial and error but boy do i love it so far, just the feeling of knowing it is getting misted if i am out and about during the dayl. Seems to get more of the other plants that way as well but there is still a portion of plants that are dry, but as mentioned earlier, that is probably a good thing. I had already ordered another head so I may incorporate it or save it for use down the road. I still hand mist once a day as I like the interaction.

Your enclosure looks like its 2ft x 2ft width and depth. I use 3 spray heads on my cages that big.

What kind of "rain attachment" do you plan to use?

I noticed my chameleon hates it when the MistKing turns on and sprays. I bought the "rain attachment" from MistKing but he does not seem very interested in that either.

He looks hydrated but I can never get him to drink when I want him to! So I am exploring my options.

I am just getting another mistking nozzle and I might convert to a rain, nozzle but not sure yet, now that i rotated the original head it seems to be doing better. I may also add the other nozzle where the red arrow is or I may just save it.

Only thing is, watch for overspray coming out of your cage onto furniture and such.

Thanks! Yeah I realized that from the get go....LOL I kept having a small puddle in the back right and apparently the cage is just barely sitting on the edge of the sink I use for drainage and some was trickling down the stand. Got that worked out now too though....I think :)
