Some Chameleons like to be misted and some don't.

Curious to see the differences !!

What type of chameleon(s) do you have, male or female and if he/she likes to be misted or when misted gets upset?

I think Milly is coming around to it. The past few mists she hasn't completly flared up. Trying to be as gentle as I can. We love her dearly !!

fred is a veiled and doesnt like the misting at all when hes ou on his vines, hel take off and hide in the leaves but if hes in the leaves already hel poke his head out and sometimes opens his mouth for a drink

Leaf is a 4 month old veiled and he hates it, I worry that he doesn't drink!!!! never see him drinking, but he must because he is doing great!!

Everyone I've ever had loved 10+ minute misting sessions. They do fine with short little mistings but they soak and drink in a long misting better. The only one who got tired of them sooner was my female veiled, but the other dozen chameleons have always been big fans of water.

HA- she HATED to be misted , she would just fling off her branch if she even thought you were going to mist her or just let go and drop like a rock to the bottom of her cage if any mist hit her, but she like to sit in my hand under running water -silly girl:) she was a Graceful

That's exactly what my cham does! He hates it and has dropped to the bottom over being so upset about it, I mist around him now haha!

I've got a male panther cross. Mine used to hate it, but I added a small heater to the 5 gallon bucket to get the water a tad warmer, and he's "warmed" up to it :p He does respond better to longer sessions where he can really get soaked!

My panthers just sit there when I mist them and with the mistking. My veiled usually looks at me angrily and storms off. Once in awhile he sits there and enjoys it.

Generally, if the mist is short, they dislike. But, if she's long, as stated above, they drink.
I think too that the mist must to be made by the top, like a rain, and not to face.

My panther loves his daily long (20 minutes) warm showers in his free range and tolerates his mistings (7 - 9 minutes).
