misters

ive been doing lots of research for different ways I can give my chameleon water because my dripper just makes a mess everywhere. I heard some people use a mister I was wondering whats the best way to proceed? I feel like im constantly refilling the dripper and wiping everything down

How long are you leaving your dripper on? It's a common mistake to leave it on all day. You are supposed to have it on for 15 minutes at a time maybe twice a day.

Agree Aquazamp or Mistking. I have the Aquazamp Raindomes and I have never regretted the purchase for a minute. I get mist and droplets.

The thing to remember with the cheaper models is that you get what you pay for...I was lucky enough to research here before I invested and didn't get one of the cheap ones first, I went from manual misting to Aquazamp.

I use a mistking it produces a fine mist and it works really well. I have a couple small holes in the bottom of the cage and have a tray underneath it to catch water, which I empty once a week.

I have both. I use a dripper which I do leave on all day because I want them to have access to water when they want it. I also use a mister to help with humidity. I do not run either at night. I also have holes in the bottoms of the enclosures which I empty when they get full. Don't waste your money on a Monsoon 400, they are crap. Go with mistking or aquazamp.

thank you soo much everyone for your feedback sooo much appreciated I think Im gonna go with the Aquazamp Raindomes since I noticed 2 of you recommend it..As for the dripper which is it do I leave it on all day or the two 15 minutes?

All day, just create a way to drain the water, some drill holes in the PVC base and have a large tub underneath to catch the water. My chams never used them so they do fine and get their water by hand misting.

I'm confused, if he has a aquazone raindome does he still have to have a dripper? I thought it mists and drops water also?

It can depend on your misting schedule (how much time between mistings). If you only mist once or twice a day, you might still need to use a dripper. I personally do not use a dripper with the Aquazamp raindome since drops form on the screen during rains and remain for the period in-between (mine goes off every 2-3 hours). My panther will wait until the rain stops, then stand on his vine to drink drops off the screen. This is how he drinks 90% of the time. Some people still use a dripper along with it, but I don't need to.

That is how my boys act with the Raindomes as well so I don't use an additional dripper

I did not realize the drops of water from the raindome would last that long! I was planning to get an aquazamp in the near future and keep the dripper too, but if the droplets hang around for a while after the pump turns off, maybe I will get one of those as well. I use the dripper because I like the idea of free water being available when ever the cham would decide to take a drink rather than restricting the access to water only when the mister goes off.
