Misting and drainage

I have been trying to search for these answers, but have come up a bit empty-handed. I have a 65 gallon reptarium on the way for my 4 month old veiled, and I am trying to work through the logistics of misting and drainage for such an enclosure.

#1 This may sound dumb, but when you mist into a reptarium using one a hand mister or pump, is there a lot of moisture/splash hitting nearby walls? Do I need to protect my apartment from water damage from the misting? If so, what's the best way to prevent water damage on nearby objects?

#2 How do most people address the drainage issue with reptariums?

Your spray will definitely go right through the Reptarium. What you're gonna need are some Reptarium SofTrays. One for the bottom and one big one, for the side to catch the mist. As far as drainage, it depends how you use the cage. I'd probably have a small dish or bucket under the cage and poke a hole in the bottom SofTray to let it leak down.

Edit: btw water penetration through the Reptarium is pretty bad in that a LOT of water will bead up on the outside of the nylon mesh and drip down the side (outside of the SofTray) so you may want to consider that too when coming up with a catch for the water. I always open my Reptariums when I spray my chams because of this.

Well, since its mesh water is going to go inbetween te holes.
You could make the cage a little denser with foliage.
This will help catch the over spray.
Also, when I use a reptarium for a couple days I put a kitty litter box underneath it for a water catch.
So, the reptarium sat ontop of the kitty litter box.

Does anyone have a picture of the soft tray? Is it something easily replicable with materials from home depot?

@ Justin That idea sounds pretty good. Did you prop the reptarium up inside the box to prevent it from sitting in water?

No it sits right ontop of it.
So, when you need to empty it all you do is pick up the cage and set it to the side.

Do you have anything on the bottom of the cage to collect poop, or does it all just kind of run together down there?

The softrays are just pieces of clear vinyl that are designed to fit the reptarium snugly. You could of course use any type of background like foam board or part of a shower curtain. The softrays are just conveniently-sized. That litter box idea sounds good, you could probably also find some kind of sterlite or rubbermaid bin that might fit the Reptarium and be relatively shallow.
