yea you do need a dipper, if your misting like that.

i was told that i would need one no matter how much i mist.. thats not true?

what type of misting interval would I need if I didn't want to use my dripper?

all my chams drink right out of nozzle or from the plant ect. (i hand mist my pygmys) , but i also make sure they are drinking and always check their poop. you have to be misting for over a min at a time. try this cycle

you said that your lights are on at 8 a.m
set it to mist at 8:15 am for 4-5 minutes, a nice morning shower.
after you mist every 2 hours for over a minute( you choose whats best)
an hour before the lights turn off, mist for over 2 minutes( this should keep the humidity high at night.

awesome, thanks... should i alternate one day and give him an afternoon thunderstorm of about 5 minutes? i dont want to drown him but i heard doing that is okay too..?

sounds good to me. sometimes my chams just don't move and will be drinking the heavy mist in the air.

What type of enclosure do you have? Is it open screen on all sides? How do you deal with the drainage?

LLL 24/24/48

with drain pan.

I rigged a tubing drainage system that drains into a bucket from the drain pan.

i will post pictures as soon as I get my camera from my girlfriends house :)

I'm asking because I don't have one and just wondered how everyone does theirs. So here goes the Qs
Do you watch them the entire time it's going off and if so what does Charlie do? Just curious if he trys to hide or is he right in the middle of it?
Is the water warm or room temp (cold)?
How do you feed, do the feeders get soaked?
Do you have real plants with drainage?
Does is spray/splash outside the cage?

I just hooked up the mistking today and the first and second mists he already reacted.. came walking up the plant to drink

The water is about 65 degrees, but I would advise keeping warm water in if you can.

I feed out of a feeding cup.. the crickets don't get too soaked, but if you use a feeding cup, you could always put a few holes in the bottom of the feeding cup.

I have real plants.. I have a ficus (about 28" high) and a dwarf umbrella (about 16" high)

It barely sprays outside the cage.. it is a VERY fine mist. It is so fine that you blow on the mist coming out, it will change directions

mist king pump

I use a mist king pump and timer.

I recently changed out the nozzles, Im now using a brass nozzle I found at lowes. They are used for cooling patios.

Extremely fine mist. There is like 2-3 drops that come out when the pump stops.

the mist is so fine that there is no need for drainage.
2 nozzles in the males cage 36x16x36
1 nozzle in the females cage 18x18s36

Time cycle:

8:00AM UVB-lights go on
9:00AM Basking lamp Goes on
10:00AM First mist of the day. 45 sec
12:00PM Second mist. 45 sec
2:00PM Third mist. 35 sec
4:00PM fourth mist. 30 sec
6:00pm fifth mist. 30 sec
7:00pm Basking lamp goes off
8:00 pm UVB-lights go off

In the photos you can see the plastic nozzle on the right, I replaced them with the brass nozzles on the left.

This is a very fine mist, I would say it is the same or better than the mistking nozzles.

Although I'm using a mistking pump, I dont think they use a different pump than what promist or any other pumps that are similar....

Some people forget that mist king is not a pump manufacturer, they have someone that builds pumps supply them, they simply put their name on it and sell them..
