Misting / hand misting

Hi at the moment I have a dripper going all day which fall on to heavy plants. My boy hand sprays her viv before putting her crickets in her cup, then we hand spray her vivarium when we get home from work. Her poo is always good so I know she's getting the water she needs. Do I need to invest in a misting machine? My other thing would be if she didn't eat all the crickets in one go "which she dosnt" the feeding cup would get full of water by the time I get home from work.

@Owen34 I can't imagine keeping any chameleon without some thing like an automatic mister. To me, it is just a necessary piece of equipment. While on the subject, get a good one like a MistKing (about $130 for the smallest system--I'd add maybe $30 worth of extras: extra with T-connectors, hose, hose cutter and a ball valve). The cheaper ones break easily and fail completely when the reservoir runs dry and trust me, it will. I've run my MistKing pumps for hours dry and they still work just fine. I might have s hortened their lives, but so far so good.

A fogger can sometimes work instead of a mister. I run a fogger for an hour a few times a day for some of my chameleons and might also hand mist but the fogger soaks everything.

I've had her a few weeks now, & today was the first time her poo had a bit of orange in it, now I'm panicking she's not getting enough water. Her poo has been fine up till now

I recommend using misting systems. As long as you keep them filled and plugged in they will get you thru days where your schedule goes all to hell or you get the flu. I wouldn't totally panic over one bit of orange in the urates IF your gut load is very heavy with carrots and sweet potatoes. The few times I've given that to all my feeders the end of the urate that is up against the feces can get stained orange from the beta carotene. If your chams urates are yellow orange and you aren't over doing the beta carotene then you need to increase your humidity in general and increase your misting schedule. You might want to start with a shower asap.

You should get an automated misting system. They will do a much better job of misting than any person can do. If you don't want your feeder cup filling with water you and cut the bottom out and replace it with screen.
