Misting question

Is there a general rule of thumb for misting? I have a mist king and I'm picking up my panther Saturday and I just wanted some opinions for what other people use for scheduling. Thanks

I keep increasing my misting frequency till:
1) Leaves always have droplets (for drinking) till 1 hour before bed
2) Humidity stays above 50% (veiled)

My cage is 36x24x40 and open on top and front. That means I must every other hour from 7 till 5 for 60 seconds.

ok. thanks. I wasn't sure about how long people were doing it for. The breeder i'm getting my panther from is going to help me program the mist king but I wasn't sure how long the showers should last. So once an hour for a minute then. Is that what most people do?

I don't think there is a clear formula as each cage is totally different. You need to get at least one (or more) hydrometers and measure humidity. Then program based on humidity level and enough water for your panther to drink.

Well keeping in mind that it takes a minute or so for a cham to actually adjust to the rain and clean himself etc, you should at least one 5 mintue showe in there.

I have mine set to a few different times.

First one is set to 4 minutes an hour after lights on.
Then at 11 for 45sec
Then at 1 for 1min 45 sec
Then at 3 for 4 1/2 min
Then at 5 for 45 sec
The. At 7 for 45 sec

It's not an exact science, but you need a couple of longer times to encourage drinking and cleaning of their eyes. I did trial and error till I found what keeps my humidity at about 40 with spikes that take it up to 90 and a few longer ones.
