Misting System Idea

Okay, so I was thinking about buying a misting system and then came up with an idea for a cheap solution and was wondering what you all would think.

So I was debating buying a Maxi-Jet 600 Powerhead, running some plastic tubing from the powerhead to an elbow joint and some more tubing connecting to an aquarium bubbler wand setup. This will create a "rain" effect as opposed to a mist effect. I have a dripper as well, do you think this will give enough of a water flow (If left running for 15 mins at a time) to thoroughly wet the plants.

Would be very similar to the rain system in this video.

I prefer dripping it seems to hydrate them more efficiently than misting. Go for it and see how it works!

I have a set-up pretty much exactly as you described and it works great!!!

It will drip and mist.... I have "The Big Dripper" set up on it as well. I was just attempting to save myself the hastle of ordering a mist king if this will do the same job.

ive been contemplating on building one from this video for a few months now, but i always seem to get a little worried of it not working right. i want to put it in my crested gecko and pygmy cham cage since it looks like it would do well only in smaller vivs

I have a drip system that does pretty much the same thing you are talking about. I am using the return pump from my last reef tank. I does not put out enough pressure to get a fine mist but it does spray across most of the cage with a misting head I got from lowes for $6. I bought the one that is made for a connection to a garden hose and has a wire inside the tubing to bend it for flow direction.

I have also looked at doing this. I've seen a slightly better system though :

However, i cant seem to find a 2000 litre per hour pump that he recommended. would a maxijet 600 do the job, except i will only need it for 1 flexarium.

Thanks
