Misting System is here, yes

Im running it for about 10 mins every 3 hrs for my panther. Im thinking about dropping that down to 5 tho, since he drinks almost IMMEDIATELY and there is no need to keep it going to induce the drinking response. Refilling my bucket every 3 days, its wonderful. Its bone dry by 3 hrs, and seems to be working out well, but i might try kicking that up to 4 and see if i notice any difference.

The timer was indeed a decent chunk out of the pocket, coulda got a veiled for the same price heh, but its worth every penny.

i think i'll put a nozzle in each armpit on heavy misting sessions in this heat!

Feel free to move to Western NY...the highest it has gotten this year was maybe 85 and thats it. Out west and south have been getting all the heat. I wouldn't mind a little "global warming" right about now. After a long winter you look for a warm summer....anyways I know my chams love the warmer weather. I had them out the other day and they loved it...there colors came right out and they basked and basked for a while.

Looks like your all setup Dank! Looks pretty friggin sweet. I would like to know more about how it runs if you don't mind me asking... How fine is the mist? Is it noisy? Have you had to refill your tub yet? Are you just misting the one cage with that setup?

to be perfectly honest with you guys I have a real job and haven't even set it all up yet, I got another 2 hours in today so all my cages are setup, i need to get some glue and get some of my mounts fixed in , i have good advice as far as cutting your holes, make sure to make small holes!!!

anyways I have fired it up, the mist is awesome, my chameleons love it, i haven't drilled my bulkhead tub yet, i found a really creative way to use a gallon or 5 gallon jug by inserting the tubing into the mouth of the bottle and down the handle passage, this keeps it fixed in place.

the motor has kinda a quite vibrating pulsing effect, it might just be air in the line , as it seemed to die down quite a bit once the misters stayed on

this is the busiest time of year at work, i just had to get this as a side project to keep me from going insane!!!!

I'll have it finished up for sure, for the average person installation would be quick and easy, my setup is quite a bit more complex with wat I'm doing with my autofloat reverse osmosis. mostly just busy cleaning work.

I'll post some pics check it out

it runs great, the mist is super fine and multiple microns of the mist will easily pass through the screen gap at once

I got my mistking on the way.
9 nozzels for that small tank?

Also, in your first Pic looks like you got a free Merc with yours, I hope I do to :D

no i found that one nozzle in even a 24 24 by 48 is plenty if you aren't running a ton of nozzles and keep your line pretty short and even, yes mistking is also giving away free kompressors right now

Nice looking misting setup. Any chance of getting some pics or a short movie of it running in your enclosure? ;)

I recently bought a used partial system but need to do some work on my enclosures for drainage before I set it up. I also got a digital timer by WOODS that has many setting options with 2 outlets that was only around $10. I'm not sure why you couldn't use one of these as the battery for the digital part is rechargeable and will keep it's settings if the power goes out. So there should be no worries about flooding the place.

Mine is similar to this one but perhaps a slightly earlier model !!!

I'm currently using it for my lights but was just wondering if there was any reason this couldn't be used for a misting system?

Dyesub Dave. :D

you could use a timer like that, but repeat cycle timers give you a lot more control, you only get a handful of settings on there and if you want to change them you have to change all of them, its a real pain in the ass

i could take a move of it running, but it really wouldn't show you, the microns of mist are so small they hardly show up on film. i will tell you the chams go nutssss

HHMMMM ... I see your point but if you only have it coming on 3 - 5 times a day then that's only 3-5 settings. ( Well 6-10 including the off times! ) I just think for the price difference it wouldn't be that much of a pain. I may give it a try when I get my misting system up and running and I'll be sure to post the results.

I'd really like to get mine going but time and $$$ have prevented me from doing so. I'd need to build some proper stands for the enclosures first but it would save me lots of time in the long run. Hopefully I'll get to see somebody's in action sometime and perhaps that will motivate me a bit more!! LOLOL

Happy to hear that yours is working well for you!

How far does the mister actually spray into the cage? I like to get my Cham really wet but he tends to go all over the place and really hide from the water sometimes because he's a grump.

it covers the area that you direct it to , i like to spray mine onto a plant, trust me, he is running from you spraying him, the fine mist and no person there makes all the difference

Thanks for posting this. With 6 cages and more being made, I'm definatly in the market for more automation! Good to hear you are liking this one .

awesome misting

The Mistking looks awesome. I saw a demo of a mist system at the Mississauga reptile show that I think was a mistking. It was demoed on a frog display, the mist was so fine it was awesome. Keep us up to date on how the installation goes and your satisfaction with the product. I think I might have to get myself one soon.

Hey, I noticed you have a mesh cage. Does the spray if the mister stay in the cage or does it get everywhere outside it too? I have a glass cage while my cham is a baby but once I upgrade to the giant mesh cage, I will probably need something like this system.

Thanks
