Misting times

Hey, I need some help. I just bought my first chameleon and bought a cage with a mister. But how long do I mist him for? It's a monsoon rs400. I have it on there for 12 times for 2 minutes, is that enough? Thanks

12 times a day is too much. I spray my cages down by hand 3-4 times a day, letting the cage dry completely before spraying again. If your cage stays wet it can become moldy and bacteria can grow and harm your chameleon.

First, start saving up for a mistking misting system. Your monsoon will unfortunately and most likely fail. For $100+shipping you can get the mistking.

I mist in 2 minute intervals 4x a day. The first misting is 30 minutes after lights on, then every 3 hours. 8, 11, 2, 5, and a quick 30 second squirt at 6:30. Lights out at 7:30. Allowing the enclosure to dry out in between mistings is important.

Not everyone is able to hand mist because of work. Automatic mistings are a life saver. However, when shedding I try to increase the humidy even more by hand misting when I can.

I too use the same misting schedule as Mvad with the exception of running a dripper right after each session, and have had no issues with dehydration. I was corrected by a senior member on here not too long ago, you do not want the cage to completely dry. It is Okay for the denser part of your foilage to remain moist to maintain humidity. I would highly recommend you stop misting for 12 times a day and cut it down to about 3-5 with a wait time of about 2 1/2 - 3 hour before misting again. You do not want your cham to develop a respiratory infection from a constantly wet enclosure. Everyone's location is different, so you'll have to use judgement on the approximate time to mist again, but definitely cut down your sessions.

Hi don't know if anyone can help but because the dome is different from a nozzle in the enclosure/cage could someone tell me there misting times and how often they leave it mist for Panther chameleon many thanks

It doesn't matter the type of misting system you might have. You still follow the same basic misting cycles.

I have a Mistking system, also, and use a similar schedule to those described above for my Panthers.
