Misting?

My female Cham doesn't like being misted. She runs away when I mist her cage. But my male loves to be misted. He gets excited and shoots his tongue at the spray bottle. It's pretty funny. He opens his mouth to catch the mist in his mouth. Both my Chams are totally opposite when it comes to misting.

Every chameleon handles a misting and contact with water in their own way. For my girl Luna it depends. Some days she'll sit there and let me mist away onto her as long as she likes, other days she'll take a bit and move away, and some times she'll book it. As for my little one Athena, she takes off like its a 50 yard dash.

Ah good it's not just mine then lol do you spray directly on to your cham as well as the cage to?

Since my female doesn't like to be sprayed, I usually spray her entire cage and she just gets misted a lot. Since my male loves to be sprayed, I spray his entire cage and mist him until he stops drinking or walks away.

Our female has not enjoyed being misted the past 4 weeks since she arrived. However she's just started her first shed and she loves a good spray at the moment.

My little guy always tries to get away from the water.
Misting does not stimulate him to drink either, only his dripper does that.

I have never seen him drink no matter how much misting.
But when I turn his dripper on, he responds to that and drinks.

I can always tell when he wants water, he waits and stares at his dripper!
