mistking heater question

im kind of confused about this at the moment. i was going to invest in just a 25w fish tank heater, but than i read about the algae build up. would anybody be able to post some pics of their mistking set up, with or without a heater?

do you guys find that roo, temp water is fine for your chams? im obviously not going to be extravagant with this, we all want the best husbandry, but if warm water from the tap (conditioned) of course, goes into the reservoir, than a lid on it would keep it at room temp. is this fine? and is tap water dechlorinized and conditioned working fine for a lot of you?

I tried warm water and mine hates it just as much as room temperature water. I started to spray him in the morning with warm water before leaving for work to make sure he was getting misted and after three times he started running from me when I walk up to his cage. I would use distilled water or buy a RO filter system most tap water will leave mineral deposits and clog your nozzles.

I was also curious about this as well, I never did get a satisfying answer though.

I use a lil fish tank heater like you do and I have never had any problems with algae yet, although I did buy the heater new in box so maybe that is the difference.

I bought a couple of 300 watt fish submersible ones off ebay for cheap. They seem to do the job for me.

I don't heat my water but it is my understanding that the reason for the black hoses is to cut down on algae growth... the black does not transmit light.. no photosynthesis = no algae... perhaps a black reservoir or one placed in the dark would prevent growth

well, seeing as how this has worked for you, i'd like to ask you a few questions.
1) how long have you been running the systems for
2) how has the system (pump, nozzles, etc) taken to the warmer water
3) have you had any algae growth/problems
4) how often do you clean the system
&
5) how is the health of chameleons because of this

sorry for all of the questions, i just want to make sure before i do anything.

that is crazy sick beeze, but i could never wire something like that up lol. i wish, but its a no go, i wouldnt know where to start lol awsome thread though
