mistking nozzle ontop of cage

Anyone else do this? I have my nozzles just placed to spray down through the screen. I like the look better and it creates rain drops that give a more natural feel. Seems more normal for them than having an object spray mist from the sides/front. Maybe if I didn't have room up top I'd change this, but cant see any other reason not to.

Have you found that you get a nice coverage of the whole cage that way or does it just pretty much drip down in one spot?

The spray still covers the whole cage, but it quickly forms droplets across the screen to create the illusion that it's raining with a lot of mist mixed in.

Yes I do that for my parsons,
I have the nozzles a few inches above the main mesh roof of the enclosure then a piece of much finer plastic mesh laying on that, the spray hits the mesh, it and creates lots of areas of big drops of water rather than a fine mist everywhere, they absolutely love these drops and it's easy for them to drink. There's plenty of excess spray anyway so there's still some mist.

Oh, I'm just a newb! I've only had mine for 14 months, so learning big time too!
Here's my gorgeous boy, cb sept. 15 was 60'g, now 460g. Grumpy but I adore him.

Do you guys find that all the water still stays inside the cage or does it get out a bit with the nozzle being up above the top?

The screen material is gavolized steel, it will rust. I just went to the hardware store and replaced the top with aluminum screen, while i was there i also got a pack of stainless screws, since the screws will rust as well.

I still have the opinion of everyone else, it rains in the cage instead of mists/fogs, and the drops seem to encourage drinking. I also dont get water spraying outside the cage.

MistKing has a Rain Nozzle that does that. "Adjustable Rain Nozzle"

Yeah I bought that last year, but I found the mist to bounce off the top of the cage and go back into the lights. Now I just have the nozzle placed down on the top of the screen.

Awesome. I can wait to redo my baby's home.

My screen hasn't rusted yet, but my screws in the cage are. @nightanole how long until yours started to deteriorate?

My sides never rusted, the top started within a year, odds are from sliding stuff around on it and scratching the coating. Its pretty easy to replace if you are up on your window screen technology. The only hard part is getting the screen tension right so it doesnt sag or be too tight on the frame.

Mind taking a pic to see how you have the head placed on top? Thanks
