Mistking or HomeDepot Timer...

One is plenty.

should it be positioned straight down or at a 90deg. angle?? i'm guessing that it will depend, in part, on your horizontal highway/basking area... you don't really want it coming on and blasting him right in the face or goosing him.. :p

i'm guessing, if the basking area is around 8" below the top of the enclosure, and the misting nozzle is at an angle , he won't really get blasted.... ;) probably a little trial and error at first!!! :)

That my friend is a retro misting nozzle from the ages of Herp Mist.... no longer in bizznass.

The clear hose is HD hose... which is crap and I don't use it anymore. That is a bit of an old photo. I still use my Herp Mist nozzles but the new hose I use is from when I made my RO system. I use blue hose. I purchased 100' of it when I purchased my RO system.

Mist King uses black nozzles to make them 'disappear' or 'blend in' to the vivarium. The black hose is UV resistant. I think this is more to do with it's resistance to fatigue under certain UV.

I don't have a huge issue with the white fittings. My main concern is that the 'nozzle' part of the misting nossle is straight. The Mist King nozzle fitting is an elbow. Not many people make that style of fitting, so Mist King has a leg up on Herp Mist, especially considering Herp Mist is no longer around.

Has anyone considered using an X-10 (or equivalent) system to run not only the Mist King, but also the lights? I would think that would provide a more comprehensive solution.

It should have come w/corner piece. Didn't use screws in my cage
actually used heavy duty doublesided tape, works great.
I've unfortunately had really bad customer service from Marty, but I downloaded
my own instructions since mine didn't come w/any, and figured it out on my own. It was a drag to have to buy a spade bit, but maybe I will use it again.

I had no problems at all with the order or getting questions answered afterwords. I like that he doesn't waste paper on instructions, I had my laptop next to me while I was doing the assembly. Worked like a charm. The only thing I wish is that the nozzles were less expensive.

how have you received bad service from marty? marty is an exceptional salesperson and has great customer service, in most cases, it is a mix up of e-mails or messages going through. marty has a habit and nack for replying fast. also, Marty is a tree hugger which is why you dont get instructions with your purchase lol. it is a lot cheaper to have downloaded files on how to install, and if not, there are plenty of links on how to do so.

spade bits are awesome! consider yourself a lucky man
