Mites on roaches!

Howdy Derrik,

It took me something like 4-5 hours to clean the mites out of all of the misc. items in my chameleon room storage cabinets the first time it happened. Just overnight, the entire area was one crawling mass of microdot white grain mites :(.

Dave, I totally know the feeling. The first time I seen it, I thought nothing of it and thought it was just wet food turned into jelly mass on the lid of the roach bin. A week later, when I took a closer look, they were moving! It was totally disgusting and they had migrated to other things other then the roach bin.

I think I'm going to use your method with ALL my feeder insect bins, just as a precaution. Thanks for sharing! :D

I think I'll throw up now....

Thanks alot guys for the ickies! I don't feed the hissers to my chams, just to the beardies. What i am afraid of is like what Dave said, them spreading everywhere else. I have my dubias and my cave roaches in bins right next to them. I will be cleaning it out tonite so if i see any more i will take a pic. If they are the beneficial mites, do they still multiply like crazy? And should i still try to distroy them? I cleaned out my dubias last nite and i didn't see any in there. I think i'll move them in the other room right now to make sure they stay like that. Itch itch.

Thanks Darla that was a really interesting site. I think i'll put under favorites. Boy if my mother ever knew i was now playing with roaches she would turn over in her grave. What we do for our chams. lol
