Mites???

I have seen Ivermectin used on several occasions, however I would not use it until you have tried most other methods as it is pretty stong.

I need suggestions please. Im freaking out.

Is there something I can get from a pet store or supermarket? Since ordering online takes a while.
I tryed Reptile spray and it doesnt work

Thanks guys

Where/what you got mites on?

I've used Reptile Relief successfully on a skink. You will need to do a complete tear down of the habitat, coat the animal, coat the habitat and furniture, 86 all substrate and monitor excessivly.

My mite problem is on a Skink too. The previous owner said the mites came from the aspen. But I dont know. I just know that the mites didnt come from my house. So should I do this method you said on him?

Thank you

Ivermectin has killed some chameleons but that was given orally.
Can you not find an insect that would eat mites that would not harm your chameleon or skink?

Yeah, I dont want to use a strong chemical, if I dont have to.
It would be nice if there was a bug that would eat the mites. Like fighting fire with fire. But I have never heard of such thing.

completely clean the cage and habitat, the store i worked in we bleached for safe measure and let it sit for a while. get rid of the bedding "including the bag it came in" and without stressing the animal use mite sprey and pull off what ones we could. Warm water sometimes got some mites off but you still need to pull them off/out. Thats atleast how we treated our snakes and other reptiles that got em.

Years ago, we used to use a small piece of No Pest Strips, the yellow ones that go into the cardboard holder. Again only use a small piece, cut about an inch and should be good.

I think those strips depend on adhesive trapping the insect. So, if the strip is small enough, it can't trap something as big as a cricket. I think.....
