We are going to Crossbreed a RB Ambilobe with a Nosy Mitsio Panther Chameleon, 1) Who would be interested in having a baby?

Its not ready yet just checking demand. (UK)

I am by no means against crosses (in my signature you can see that I have one) but there are so few Mitsios running around, could you not find him/her a matching partner? I have no objection to crossing more commonly available locales, but it would be a shame to not keep the genetics of your mitsio going.

I think he is located in Europe....there are a lot of them there if I'm not mistaken?

your right chamtrainer... i could get a mitsio but i wanna see some intense colours and i havent seen that cross before

Ok fair enough. It certainly might be a cool mix. I can't contribute to the demand thing though, many of us are in the US.

I agree with Olimpia's comment 100% regarding the mistios in the us because they are super rare to come across and if you do come across them in the us...you should keep the lines pure. I am also not against cross-breeding...I just think rare locales should be kept pure..

I wont discourage you from doing this..but i have to tell you that you arent gonna see any new/wierd colors...most the offspring will turn out looking like Red barred ambilobes....

you got him 9 days ago and in those 9 days all your threads are worried about his colors/locale. and a few posts about basic husbandry issues.

Imo and only mine, wouldnt it be in the best interests of your cham for you to become a little more experienced with cham ownership before diving into breeding? From what I am told, there are even more issues with incubating, hatching, and babies than the everyday normal caretaking.

I 100% agree with this post. If you aren't sure what you are doing it is best to leave breeding to more experienced keepers. A lot of ppl that just "want to see cool colors" that throw a male and female together have ended up with a dead female and very few, if any surviving/fertile eggs. You should be breeding to better the species NOT just to see "cool colors"...just an opinion, but think about it. There are a lot of animals mistreated, homeless or dead because ppl are reckless and careless with breeding.
