I should have listened to all of you. My monsoon, that i've had for only 2 weeks, broke already. The power wont even turn on to it. I know you guys said it was crap but i thought i would last longer then 2 weeks. Im gonna try and get my money back for it and just buy a MistKing.

Do the tubing and connectors/Misting heads for the monsoon work for the MistKing?

I feel your pain- mine lasted a month but did end up drenching my floors twice first-
From what I understand they are good at replacing but bad at getting your money back - I don't know I didn't keep my box or the receipt and never tried -
The hoses and fixtures can't be used on a mistking or an aquazamp- (I ended up mailing all mine to Holland to a member who was having problems with his)

Once you get your new system hooked up you will not believe the difference peace of mind makes, I had a baby jackson in the middle of the summer and the monsoon nearly killed her .. as a newbie it was amazing I didn't do it without the monsoons help.

I absolutely LOVE my mistking. It has worked pretty much flawlessly for 5 years.

The monsoon is way expensive and not very upgradable compared with the Mistking.

I'm very surprised a company line Exo-terra would have such a crappy product on the market for so long without addressing the abhorrent quality.

Get the Mistking.

it is so sad they are pure unadulterated crap because it is a great idea for a simple "one or two cage" hobbyists mist system.
My two died in a few moths too and I was MAD.

This has gone on for years with these units and there is no excuse for it when the problem can be 99% SOLVED with them by moisture-proofing the inside electronics better.

all the better for Marty at Mist King
:)

Cheers
Todd

so where would you guys recommend buying the mistking from??

I was checking it out on LLLReptile ,,,, i've bought quite a bit of stuff from them already and i know their good

.

I've read there both 1/4" hoses. Why cant they be interchanged?? the mistking and the monsoon anyway

I just ordered my Mistking from Pangea. I was on their site buying some crested gecko supplies and decided it was time to get one as my new Panther will be arriving next week.

With the kit that I bought, I'll be able to hydrate both of my cham cages and all of my cresties too.

I have been using the Zoomed ReptiRain for a couple months. It works but it leaks a lot and the nozzles are crappy and they drip for a long time after the mist cycle.

Based upon all of the postings I've read about Mistking, here and other forums, it seems one really can't go wrong. In fact, I can't recall ever reading anything negative about Mistking.

I got mine from lllreptile plus a few extra fittings.. I think it came to like 150 with shipping and everything.. I've never had problems ordering anything from them

I found the perfect use for my Monsoon. Hope this helps.

got the monsoon working again. Just took it all apart and let the inside dry out and it started working fine again. Its sad that i can break so easy tho. Very bad design. At least it will work until i get my mistking. Im leaving the top off of the water reservoir so it does not get all wet on the inside again and stop working.

Ya everything that i wanna get is gonna cost about $266

MistKing Ultimate Value Misting System - $189.99

3 MistKing Value T Misting Assembly - 42.75

2 MistKing Value L Misting Assembly - 28.50

Everything i need to put a sprayer in all 4 corners of each cage. I have 2 giant plants in each cage and need it to cover all of them

Check out my Cages set-up ,,,, Males Cage on the Left, Female on the right.

Thanks again for the cages distortionz

You might be overdoing it a little bit.. on your pocket at least.. 2 sprayer nozzles per cage should be fine.. the extra nozzles won't hurt anything but 2 will definitely cover your whole cage.. hell I've seen people only use one even for the xl cages.. I personally like 2 though..

All you really need for 2 cages is the starter kit which is only $100, then 3 extra T misting assembly fittings.. and probably a little extra hose... the starter can support up to 10 nozzles

I will agree that two nozzles can effectively mist a 2'x2'x4' enclosure. 4, I feel, would be overkill.

I buy pumps and transformers off of Ebay. Costs about $35. Then I go hit up Home Depot for tubing and nozzles.
