Walking through my garden earlier and I could see one of my tomatoe plants shaking from across the yard. These suckers are so big the whole plant was bent over and trembling! Too bad the weren’t on the pepper plants right next to them...

I know they are toxic to chams, what about bearded dragons?

Yes. They are toxic to everything from eating the tomato leaves. Wouldn't it be great though?

Yup toxic to just about everything birds,spiders,fish and reptiles but those are huge you should let them breed I’m sure the moths would be huge as well 7 inches at least

Ha ha... those are one of the juiciest, most desirable treats for many chameleons! Manduca quinquemaculata the tomato hornworm...

So is it the whole nightshade family? Exactly what is it about that family that makes them toxic? What effect does that toxin have on your Cham!

Most of the nightshade family just about all the ones we like to eat potato,eggplant tomato etc I know that the glycol alkaloids from ingesting the leaves of a nightshade plant (tomato,tobacco etc)build up
Tomatine poisoning can cause liver failure edema and whole other slew of things similar to soline poisoning when you eat green potato’s but the effects on a Reptile are much more severe esp,Kidney failure and edema
