So I touched his tail over a couple days between this posting and my last posting. Every day it was improving, and recently he has been able to move both the tip and the base of his tail, but cannot move the middle very much.
As for his behavior, monty has become active as he used to be, and eats well. The only issue is that now, he does not focus on the food with his eyes, but waits for me to put it to his mouth and then he will try to chomp it.
His tongue over a year has been less and less sticky and he has lost aim somewhat. So I have been putting his food in a cup, and he eats out of that or my hands.
