More questions about temps?

Okay, so the basking spot in my terrarium is about 90°-95°F but obviously if you keep one thing under heat for a longer period of time it gets hotter, like an oven.

Asking this question because when I was testing temps I left the thermometer under the basking spot for 20 mins and the temp came out at 93°F but then I left it under for about an hour and it came out at 100°F

Will the cham realize when he's getting to hot?

Hello, 100F is a lot. I remember your Cham is a young one, my vet told me that young chams (less than 6 month) are not able to realize when it's too hot for them, mine got dehydrated because of this. So you should provide your Cham 85F in his basking spot. You can change your bulb or maybe move it higher from the cage.

I use a thermostat so if temperature goes high it turns the lightbulb off, when temperature goes down it turns the lightbulb on again. I bought it on Amazon and the brand is "inkbird" and you can set it up with different temperatures and time lapses (I use it with a ceramic heater for day and night with different setups 85F day/70F night). I use them because weather changes a lot where I live so this helps to keep a constant temperature for my Cham.

Why not shoot for like 80 after 20min and 85 after an hour? They are going to bask for a pretty long time, as they only do it a few times a day.

I use a light dimmer I found on amazon for really cheap. To controle the temps. If my therm. Reads in the 90's i dim it. If my room is cooler then normal and temps in enclosure dip some i raise the dimmer.
