moss and terrarium carpet

So still being new at this I have learned that substrate is not good, but what about moss and terrarium carpets?
I have moss as an atempt to help humidity levels, but I have noticed Verde has been eating pieces. Good or bad?
I also have a terrarium carpet because Verde does not like the slick bottom of his home.

On a different note I plan to upgrade his home to allow for live plants and more climbing soon. So I really curious about the carpet especially if the diy cages have slick bottoms.

If he is eating the substrate remove it asap, as this can cause impaction. Just go with the carpet for now. If you have a screen cage try covering two or three sides with plastic sheeting or sometimes called visqueen. This will help hold humdity. Home depot and lowes carry it. You could even cut a trashbag to fit the sides.

Bare bottom is probably your best bet especially being fairly new. Learn how to make some type of drainage and you'll be good. Any carpet ect. needs to be changed or starts to smell or mold. Gets old fast cleaning up the wet paper towels repti carpet ect. just a waste of material.

He should be climbing on his vines and plants. Not really on the floor that much. They are tree dwellers

I agree with Jack you need drainage. Sometimes people drill holes in the bottom. Then set the cage over a plastic tub for the water to drain into. If you look around the forum you will find a lot of ideas.

Thanks for the great advice. I will remove the moss in the am...he is alseep already. As for the carpet I will just change often as I have been until I upgrade to new home with a drainage.
