Please let me know if my enclosure is OK, and why is he mostly dark in color. Also I noticed that he had loss of appetite lately.

Chameleon Info:

Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care? Veiled Chameleon a believe about 3 month old. I have him for about 3 weeks now.
Handling - He doesn't even let me hand feed him. Runs away when I try.
Feeding - I have crickets, silkworms, wax-worms, and butter-worms. I gutload crickets with green cubes "complete bites", fresh sunflower seeds, and fresh greens.
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule? Plain Calcium on crickets only every time. Rep-cal herptivite and Rep-Cal Calcium with D3 twice a month.
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking? I have a dripper and misting about 4 times a day. I don't see him drink, but he is frightened, I think, when I am around.
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? Black and white. Hasn't been tested.
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:

Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions? Screen Cage 48 in x 24 in x 24 in.
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule? Reptisun UVB 5.0, 75w Basking Light, and House light bulb.
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps? Basking spot is about 85F, Ambient Temp is about 74F, night is about the same maybe 70F.
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity? Since I bought reptifogger couple days ago, I was finally able to manage create about 50-65%, not right after misting. I have huge dracaena plant which I put 4 days ago, however it didn't do anything, it still was about 35% from my room humidifier which is right by cage on the right side. So I bought Reptifogger 2 days ago, which brings Relative humidity up, but I think only at the channel it shoots.
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind? We put a huge dracaena plant
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor? Between couch and balcony. Sits on the dip tray, which is on the floor.
Location - I live in Phoenix, AZ. Humidity is a problem....

Current Problem - It's been about 3 weeks already, but he still appears to be uncomfortable in his cage by showing brown colors sometimes, especially when he basks. For several days already, his appetite is not what it used to be, he maybe eats like 1-3 insects a day. I tried hand feeding but nothing. Sometimes he would eat a worms from the dracaena, but sometimes they just lay there until they fall. The plant is there only about 4 days, I inserted 2 yellow looking branches 2 days ago, the black vine is there from the beginning as well as all other fake foliage. His appetite decreased before the new plant and 2 branches was put in.

Thanks!

well they will turn darker to get heat. So its possible that hes just being brown to get warm. You might want to see if you raise the basking temp to 88m, and see how he does.

also,m you need to gutload better, though this isnt causing the dark problem.

find blogs by sandrachameleon about gutloading.

also, how much foliage is in the cage, i know waht you said you had, but if its not full and dense, he may be stressed because he cant hide well.

well he does have enough foliage to feel safe. so thats not the problem.

when my guy was little, he stayed brown all the time.. no matter his temps.

so i woudl just trry to raise his temp, and see what happens.
but hes not black, hes not sleeping during the day, and hes not gaping.. so i wouldnt be too concerned.

Thanks, What do you think about his appetite? I don't know if he doesn't like his cup anymore or its something else. The bugs inside the cup are very passive though and hardly move. It does sometimes get wet and bugs inside die from drowning, but I clean it the same day. What would be a good spot for placing a cup. Is it good where its now? Or should it be closer to basking spot? Also It doesn't seem that he grew that much in 3 weeks.

Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule? Reptisun UVB 5.0, 75w Basking Light, and House light bulb. You are using two basking lights? Im not sure if I am understanding right, but just one 75ish watt bulb should be all you need for basking.

IMO, having more "roadways" for him, especially near the bottom, would help him feel more comfortable. They like to explore and hunt all over, placing some sticks/branches in the enclosure will help him maneuver.

How close is the basking branch to the actual basking light?

I think moving him up higher off the floor would help him feel more comfortable as well, it will also allow you to do something about drainage, which you will need to address sooner or later.

It has been my experience that lots of things on top of the enclosure can spook them as well. Raising him up onto a table or shelf will allow you to somewhat hide the humidifiers and such that now surround his cage.

I also think that raising the basking temp could help.
This directly effects their appetite, as they use the heat to digest the food. If they eat, and dont have high enough heat to digest the food, the food stays in them longer, and they will be less hungry.

I have a pump type mister, which makes everything soaking wet in 30 sec, so I mist about that.

I have one 75w bulb, and another is just regular house bulb light like 13w for extra light in cage.

I would love to make a temp drop at night, but don't know how. I can't make it too cold in the house. I do spray him when his light are off and sometimes when I go to sleep.

I can't really fit any other plants in there, the dracaena took all the space.

I have posted some pics, do you think I need more branches? Thanks.

That is the best type of sprayer to use IMO. Misting with it longer is ideal, at least 3 min at a time.

Ok, this seems fine.
I would love to make a temp drop at night, but don't know how. I can't make it too cold in the house. Well the way I do it is I just dont turn the heat on, but that may or may not be applicable to your situation. Its not absolutely mandatory, its just ideal.

I would mist him if hes asleep, but a quick mist with un-heated water shortly before lights out will help bring the nite time temp down, and help RH through the nite.

Pothos come in all sizes, you could stick one right on the floor of the cage.;)

Yes, near and around the bottom mainly.
Thanks.No problem.:)
My comments in red.

All my crickets r in cups down on the floor and so is his fruit and veggies I have got a veiled and don't worry to much bout the brown he will be fine and as for the hand feeding he still might be to young and you haven't really had him long enough to get used to you yet mine didn't start hand feeding till about 4-5 months but now loves it hope this helps.
