Mouth injury? hoehnelii

Okay I will order that now.

We use fruit and veggies and cricket crack and bug burger. Do you think there's something I can feed the crickets that can be beneficial while he's fighting this thing?

Thanks for your suggestions, camimom.

And I will give the vet a call back.

I will keep my fingers and toes crossed. :(

And again, any feedback is appreciated.

Very welcome!

Good luck.

any questions, you can post or PM me, im almost always on during the day.

It sounds to me like a temporal gland infection. The temporal gland in chameleons is located in some species just behind the junction of the upper and lower jaw. An infection of the temporal gland often presents itself as irritation at the corner of the mouth and swelling just behind the corner of the mouth. It is fairly common in some of the Trioceros species. I agree that a resistance test on the bacteria would be beneficial.

As for temperatures. You could raise your temps into the 80-85 range and as long as you mist well, he should be fine.

Boy, that sounds exactly like what he has. Is this hard to treat?

I am waiting on a call back from the vet, but honestly, he was nice and helpful and all that and I am so thankful, but this might be out of his range of expertise. Does anyone know of any real reptile vets in NYC?
