Current Problem - Found Chameleon hanging upside down from window bar, grabbed him to place back in cage but his body tensed up and his mouthed gaped open. Placed him in his cage but his body was still tense and curled up. I sprayed him with water to see if that would help, and it did for a bit. He tried moving and also grabbed his left leg with his left arm to himself move. Then again he curled up and became tense, mouth gaped open. It's been several hours and I placed him on a heating pad, he has been in the same spot and he will occasionally open his mouth like grasping for air. Need help please:(

* He is not directly on the heat pad, a shirt is in between and on the lowest setting.

I am sorry to hear that your chameleon is not doing well. I recommend taking him to a good reptile vet that’s experienced with chameleon. I would call and tell them he needs to come in right away and get him in as early as possiable tomorrow. Once you get him through this you need to keep him differently. This care sheet tells you exactly how you need to keep him so he will stay healthy.

Idk why you stopped giving him calcium, but that’s a huge problem.... could be what’s causing him to act like he is. I’d take him to a vet
