Mulberry crickets

I'm about to order a 1,000 count of crickets from Mulberry farms, but I can't decide on the size, the size I usually get from the pet stores are about 1/2 an inch to 1 inch big.. how many weeks is that?

Fyi.. They are not brown crickets, they are the black ones. They get bigger. I ordered 6 week olds (adults) and they were HUGE! double the size of adult brown ones it seemed like..

I like the black ones - when I get them in bulk they live and last longer. And they are meaty so I feed fewer ... but yeah, they are ugly and they bite.

I think most places are selling the black ones now.

I just ordered from smallpetfeeders.com and got them yesterday. I was happy with the price and service.

I've also ordered from ghann.com and was happy as well.

Your gonna be hard pressed to beat Brad's price on the brown crickets. I can get 1000 of 'em in whatever size I want for $20.........shipped to my door. I've ordered twice from him and the first time I "guessed" to small. The last time I upped the size to 1/2" and couldn't be happier. I'll bet I haven't lost a dozen total crickets and I've had them for almost 3 weeks now.

20 plus shipping?

I normally order from Flukers (only brown crix) but lately the sizes are way off, many orders have come in half dead and their customer service person got snippy with me. Used them for years before this and always been pleased as punch. Currently shopping around though...

I second LazyHBait. I ordered 1000x 1/4crickets for 17$ shipped. The crickets arrirved in a cardboard box with mesh sides.

my supplier rates them like this: 6 weeks 1" , 5 weeks 3/4", 4 weeks 1/2"

even though they are almost every single time different size for the weeks. order 6 weeks.

STAY AWAY FROM BLACK CRICKETS~!!!!!

They have a aweful bit.. i can provide you with a artical about them if interested

The closer they are to ya............the "cheaper" the shipping will be. Personally, I think $20 to my door is one heckuva deal. The customer service is second to none too. If you call and have to leave a message, Brad will very promptly return your call.

just saying i ordered a 1000 crixs from mulberry just 2 weeks ago and they where brown not black may that has changed but it was just 2 weeks ago

I also like the black crickets!!! On top of what was said above they are much hardier and don't die as easy. They are also SUPER easy to breed unlike browns. I am still on the same crickets I bred from the first 100 I got from Mulberry almost a year ago :D:D

My cricket vendor announced in a recent newsletter that they are currently working with the "black cricket". I was considering a test batch but after reading the article, I think I am going to reconsider :).

Im Faster.....Thank you for providing the link to forum members.
