My amobilobe is almost white?

So I just walked by my chams cage and noticed that he was in his usual sleeping spot and hes usually about the same green as the leaves however tonight he is very light and basically white? Should I be concerned? Also today my husband and I finally got my mist king set up and running...I've got it running at 7am for 5min, 12pm for 5 min and 5pm for 5 min.....however the humidity is sitting at 99% at the bottom of cage and 65 at the top. All the lights are off and its now almost 9pm. I'm in Illinois and is had been in the high 80's. Please let me know if I need to change things. Thanks!

I have been using a hand spray bottle but today we got the mist king set up and running How often and how long to you mist? when I was doing it by hand i was doing it three times a day and just till everything was pretty wet not for a specific amount of time but now as I said to begin with three times for 5min Do you see your chameleon drinking? yes
• Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. they are looking okay with white and the brownish part too wet looking not dry Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? no not to my knowledge

Cage Info: 2x2x4 but I have the top of the cage lowered so its now a 2x2x3 or just over 3 foot.
• Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions? all screen
• Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is yourthe temp in basking is low of 73 high of 81 and bottom of cage is low of 66 and high of 74 degrees daily lighting schedule? repti sun 5.0 basking is a just regular house hold 60watt.
• Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
• Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
• Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind? unbrella plant yes its live
• Placement - Where is your cage located? in the corner of my living room Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? no vents fans but it is a higher traffic area not supre busy tho At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?about 5 foot 9in
• Location - Where are you geographically located? Illinois

You skipped over some of the most important questions or didn't answer them fully. It sounds as if your panther is overheating.... or just shedding.

Edit: Wait, missed temperatures.... because it's in the wrong spot.

It sounds like you are doing everything right. I am not sure on the humidity level being so high on the bottom. Do you have alot of standing water? Also, as far as the color, usually the only time they would turn white is if they have become extremely over heated. that does not sound like the case if he is sleeping! They do tend to get very light when they sleep. My cham is mostly green all day but turns yellow at night. Not all yellow though, he has many other colors. So when you say white, do you mean solid white, or just light?!

Seems like a little too much misting to me. Have you noticed him getting light colored at night before? They tend to lighten up when sleeping anyway. I have posted the same cham awake and then sleeping. Is that close to what you are seeing?

no he is MUCH lighter. I justed looked at him again and turned on a light near his cage to see what his color was for sure and I think hes just a really light green I think his color is starting to get a little bit more green.

I wouldn't worry too much about it! If his basking light temp was too hot or something then maybe I would be concerned. But he is sleeping and it should be cool. Also, as Syn mentioned could he be in the beginning stages of a shed cause they get dry and white but mostly will start to spot and then go into a full shed. Just a thought.

Thank you everyone. I think he just got light because hes sleeping. However he was very very light but since I posted he has alot more color now still light but not so white looking. I'm going to bed and we'll see how he looking in the am...I'm sure I'll be up a few times during the night checking on him tho just to make sure. I guess thats the Mom in me Thanks again!

Everything sounds great except for the suppliments you need to use calcium without d3 and only use the one with d3 a few times a month

Take a picture of the chameleon and post it here.
If your temp reading is accurate. Then, then I would suspect that he's shedding. How old is he? it is not uncommon for a baby panther to have a spontaneous shed in all part of his body. The adult panther sheds in patches.

And, imho, your misting schedule is fine especially since you do not use a dripper.

The first 3 or so weeks my male ambilobe was also white when sleeping, he slowly started showing some light reds and blues and since he shed has been showing more and more color while sleeping.
