I am sure (s)he is mad at me... I definitely saw more colors than my camera picked up. Too bad the ones of (s)he in the sun were too washed out looking. I noticed the neck area turns red (as in these pics) when eating too.

I really do not know... it arrived from lllreptile last Thursday. Someone suggested 10 weeks or so. I wish I knew! I dont even know if its female or male either! lol At rest in the enclosure its pretty much brown/light brown. It was nice to see some color.

U mean LLLreptile couldnt even give u the sex and age???

Lll wont tell u their sex unless they know for sure what it is . They dont want you coming back saying you want a refund because they was a certain sex . The good thing is that they have healthy specimens.I've bought two Panthers and they are beautiful studs .

I was a bit of a dummy myself. I started looking at chameleons and my husband and I narrowed it down to wanting a panther (due to the pattern and colors) later on I realized that the females didnt get the coloring like a male would. I got caught up in looking at all the kinds of chameleons without realizing that... My husband had a chameleon in the past (not a panther) and it was really pretty green and gray. I am drawing a blank as to what it was now.

Needless to say on LLL's site it did not give a choice of sex for the babies... i just didnt think that far ahead until I got it then I was like... oh yeah females are dull looking. I got caught up in all the colors (just as my husband). so yeah, i will be disappointed but oh well- its my fault. Perhaps I can contact them because the baby arrived last Thursday but I dont know how they keep track of which ones are sold to who. I guess I can ask though.

I just wish I could get an answer because i posted on the ID section of the forum and my pics sucked and now that I have better no one is looking. LOL

No doubt, the baby is healthy as a horse!!!!!! :)

I have another thread going on the Chameleon Identification section... like i said the pics there sucked (and when I added the recent ones, no one has been replying to that thread). I tried to give the baby time before i got pics out of (s)he out of the cage... but thats what I did today. I have looked at a TON of threads on here... I am thinking Male myself. I think its 3 votes male 1 female right now. :) I would think the females at this age would have more pastel colors (pink, brown, peach) but I am seeing dark red and some yellow/orange even (in the sunlight).

I started driving myself nuts with trying to find the sex because I know females need different care (egg laying and all that) which I would not want to screw up.

Thank you for the replies.
