My 1yr female blue bar ambilobe panther chameleon has been having problems with climbing I've heard so many thuds and have seen her at the bottom of her cage numerous times either sitting up like a dog or just laid out on her stomach wether it be her trying to get from one place to another or just standing still it's been 3 days since I've seen her eat and 4 days since this has started happening Ive been researching the web for anything explaining why this is happening she has me really worried and in need to help out in anyway I can Can anybody help me to identify the issue thanks

Its awful hearing that thud, then again, then again:(

My first thought is MBD, but theres no way to give you any kind of accurate answer without knowing more about her.

Please fill this out, giving particular attention to supplements, and gutloading.

Be as thorough as possible, and add any info you think is important as well.

can you post a pic?

it also sounds like mbd. her supplements are not correct. she should be getting calcium without d3 daily, calcium with d3 twice a month, and a multi vitamin twice a month aswell
and how old is her uvb light??
sorry she is sick.... hearing them fall is the worst. hopefully she gets better.

I just replaced both bulbs about couple weeks ago I used to give her calcium w/o d3 weekly but I have been slacking on it lately I'm trying to get a good schedule going just not sure how to go about it she's my 1st Cham

Hey, sorry about your cham but for the hole supliment issue just dust daily with repashy calcium plus (all in one supliment) so u dont have to worry about a schedule and gutload your feeders with some fresh veggies so theyll be more nutrisous, you can also take it a step further and dust your veggeis with dinofuel and/or repashy bugburger. Also for flooring, did your retptarium come with a plastic bottom? I would get rid of the cardboard and the double layer of green carpet, could grow mold/bacteria from gathering water from misting.

Hope this helps and good luck!!

recent pic

told my wife to take a picture of her while im at work so not the best looking megapixels

Is the minerall with or without D3? (indoor/outdoor?)

An appropriate schedule would be calcium without D3 or Phosphorous on most/all daily feeders.

Calcium with D3(no Phos.) twice a month.

A multivitamin twice a month.
(the last two can just be alternated every sunday)

Repashy Calcium plus is an all in one, and can make this much simpler.

I understand the products you are using to be quality products(ive never used them) you are just misusing them.

When my jackson was being ODed on D3, she started crawling the screen, and would slide off of it. She would fall 4' 5-10+ times a day, and was super hyper. D3 8 times a month could cause this, if the minerall is indoor, that means you are giving D3 16 times a month, and thats if your only dusting one feeder a day.

The chameleon in the picture looks dehydrated. While it may have early onset of MBD, I see no obvious physical signs of her having it. (curved/deformed limbs)
So if she has it, it is early, this is a good thing.

Im not sure what Vit-all is, but I know those orange cubes are not the way to go. Here is sandrachameleons blog on gutloading:https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/

By the sound of that poo, you need to get a fecal done, I understand green poo is a sign of parasites.

A 75watt household bulb gives me a basking of 90-95F.
This is what you need to achieve, one way or another.
It is my understanding that females should ideally be kept cooler though, 85-90F, to prevent egg formation. Preventing egg formation extends their life span.

Your in Houston, so I imagine your RH is fine ;)

I would stop ALL supplementation immediately, and get her in a shower chamber once or twice a day until she doesnt seem dehydrated, if she is. Post some better pics when you get a chance though.

After a week, I would start with just calcium on feeders.
After a month, start her on a normal supp schedule.
This will give her body time to balance back out.

EDIT: How long have you had her?

ANOTHER EDIT: I have a strong feeling your chameleon has a parasite problem.

I've had her since may of last year so she barely hit a year i understand how she could be dehydrated I recently switched out her umbrella plant with a new one I tend to do this every couple of months the only problem with the recent one is it's still a baby plant which has small leaves to which she can't move around like she used too and they don't hold as much water I just bought her a baha mist till I get her a mist king not really sure if this is affecting her I'n anyway Ive tried to force feeder twice but she is really grumpy and and hard to get a hold of her so I just give up to avoid stressing her out I've noticed a strength change on her grip I used to have alot of trouble getting her out of the cage playing tug of war and all now she barely puts up a fight. I'n hope I'm hoping for the best and not the worst.

don't try to force feed, it will only make matters worse...force feeding should be left for an absolute last ditch situation

I would agree that she is looking quite dehydrated. Based on your description of her poo, Snake's guess at a parasite is probably a good one. Whatever is causing the diarrhea is causing dehydration and likely stressing her in not eating.

I would add a fairly large amount of foliage to her cage (can you give us a full cage pic?)

Also, are you sure your temperatures are accurate? 100W Neo bulb generates a LOT of heat....I use a 60W standard incandescent bulb and have temps in the 80-85 range at my basking spot and 70-80 throughout the setup...with a 100W my temps would be WAY higher.

if you are keeping up on your care as listed, then i would not think it is a husbandry issue (minus the supplementation fix) but that would even further lead to likelihood of illness/parasite which would need a vet eitherway

she is very dehydrated which is going to make it harder to get her to eat i would say get her to a vet does she have laying bin in her cage

she will pace alot hang around the bottom of the cage try to dig any where if this is the case she needs a vet asap as it might already be too late not to scare you but it happens quick they hide signs of sickness very well. I have a laying bin in my females cage from 7 months on

Ok on my 1st try I tried the shower chamber for 15min I modified to what I had at my disposal I basically gOt sum tub aware filled it half way with warm water since my shower head only sprinkles I would sprinkle water of my hand here and there I also succeeded at having her drink water of a cup she drank a descent amount and got perked right up but she still keeps falling ima keep this up hopinge she eats soon

I have a dwarf umbrella plant I'n the middle of her cage with the plastic pot with soil should I just get a bin and let her do her thing or will she not able to lay eggs I'm sort of confused on the egg having situation without a mate help plz
