My male veiled chameleon has a red pimple like growth on his mouth. I went to work and he was fine. I came back 6 hours later and noticed the growth. He seems fine he is eating and drinking normally. This is my first cham, I've had iguanas before but every reptiles different,

That looks like it might be a disease. There are a few contagious diseases it could be--an experienced reptile vet is the person to diagnose it.

If you have any other reptiles, service this one's cage last. Set up a good biosecurity protocol to keep any other animals you might have from getting whatever this one has. Even if you don't have reptiles, make sure you don't pass this on to someone else's by handling other people's reptiles or allowing them to come in contact with your animal or cage.

sorry i can't help you on the bump, but that looks like a gravid/receptive female to me. the coloration is one factor, but the veil isn't as high as a males. does your chameleon have spurs?

I do not have any other reptiles at the moment but ty for the reply. I'm going to take him to the vet tomorrow if the bump is still there.

Omg the pet store I saved him/her from said it was a male. Tbh they had no idea how to take care of a chameleon. He/she was in a 3 gallon glass tank with nothing to climb on and a small water dish no dripper or mister. The food dish was full of mealworms and the sawdust stuff they come in. I wasn't planning on getting a cham but when I saw it living like that I had to save it. It looks like he has spurs but I'm not sure.

Show a pic of his/her back feet so we can see. I also was thinking this is a female showing receptive coloring, and if it is you will need to get that laying ben set up. I also think you should have a reptile vet look at that bump looks like a form of fungus to me, but I'm not a vet.

Well looks like Carl is actually Carla haha. She's one feisty female and shes huge so I thought she was definitely male. What would you recommend for a laying bin? I've never looked into them I've always had male reptiles. Thanx for ur help

This is horribly common and it makes us boil! Pet shops have no business stocking and selling animals they have no clue how to care for! Their poor or nonexistent husbandry info gets passed on to customers who then take their pets home to end up sick or dying. I know you had the best intentions by buying her, but unfortunately you also handed the shop a "reward" for stocking a cham. They got their money out of her and may just get a replacement. The cycle repeats. A good rule of thumb for the future....if you really want to rescue an animal from a bad shop, explain what's wrong with their care, point out any illnesses or injuries the animal has, and offer to take it off their hands for little or nothing (saying it needs vet care and you are willing to take it on). This way the shop doesn't have as much incentive to sell more.

She was $9.99 they said she was aggresive and no one wanted her. They dude basically begged me to take her when I said I was thinking about buying her. He admitted she was in a bad enclosure for her but there was nothing he could do about it. Ty for ur positive response.

So this is what I set up for a laying bin. Any feedback if I did this right will be greatly appreciated!
