I personally have seen my cham's back arch while sleeping as well. Usually when his body is in a stretched out position as opposed to curled up and tucked. Looks like he's just contoured to the stick in a way that it makes it extreme. Or is he that flat on multiple nights?

We normally have him covered up because we always have lights on so we don’t see him often but he has done it two nights in a row

He seems to get fairly dark around his eye when he is sleeping. Didn’t know if that was normal. He’s also usually a bit red at the top of his head, not sure if that’s normal either?
He has the circle around his eye during the day but it’s not nearly as dark

Another question, my chams eye/top of head and casque has been a bit reddish/brownish since we got him (about two ish weeks ago). Is it normal? Pic posted below (he decides to chill out on my zaxbys cup)

Just make sure a few inches on the bottom of the cage are not covered as well as the entire top of the cage. You want the air circulation.
I’ve never seen him do it while he’s awake just seen him look like this the past two nights while sleeping
It is normal. He is stretching out while sleeping.

Normal coloring. He will start to develop more dark detail around his eyes and casque as he matures.

Looks like normal coloring. No sign of thermal burn.

They change color quite a bit based mostly off their state of being. These are all the same chameleon.

Normal resting coloring... less black in the detail on the face.

Sleeping. Lots more black in the detail on the face. And you can see it is normal for them to stretch out their body while asleep.
