so i have a vield chameleon and she is about a year and a half old and laid 34 eggs about an hour ago and i just dug them out to incubate them but they came out fairly smaller than the ones she laid about 5 months ago. this is her second time this year laying eggs. the only reason that i could think of why this could have happend would be because maybe we she wasnt ready to mate? even tho when we put them together to mate she did not show any aggressive gestures so i assumed she was willing to mate. so i highly dout that could be the reason but that just a guess. can anybody please help me n tell me why they came out smaller then the other eggs or if this is normal?? because i dont think the eggs she laid 5 months ago were this small heres a pic of 2 of the eggs she laid 5 months ago and 2 of the eggs she laid today. the 2 on the right are the ones from 5 months ago and the ones from today are on the left.

I believe the eggs grow during incubation. From what I've read, they are laid about the size of jelly beans and grow to roughly the size of grapes before hatching.

There's always the possibility of today's eggs being infertile too... Perhaps a more experienced voice will chime in.

the ones to the left in your photo look infertile and the ones to the right look fertile. if they are yellow and not white then they are no good.

yes i have read that befor, some are white like the ones on the right but the same size as the ones on the left so its hard to tell if there infirtle since she laid them today. sorry i should have took pics of the white ones. im not sure if i can put more pics up but if i can figure how i will post some of the better looking eggs on this thread.

texas ranger -i just posted a couple more pics of the white eggs i was talking about, same size as the 2 yellowish eggs in the first pic
