My cham won't drink

I've never seen her drink. I fill her dripper all throughout the day which drips onto a pothos, I have a habbamist which drips onto her other plants hourly, and I mist her all day making sure that the water collects on the leaves. She is afraid of the dripper, shows no interest in water period, and even when she is in the shower she will chill out and play in the water but never drink it. She does not drink. Is she sneaking or just not drinking? Dehydration has been a problem. Should I use a baster?

Amanda,
When in the shower it may look as if the cham is playing around, but if she's opening her mouth and closing it at times, then it's usually a sign of taking in water. She doesn't necessarily need to be licking a plant, but rather catching it as it drips down from her nose.

Habba Mist...I would just get rid of it altogether...I've noticed they don't do all much good as the water tends to "splash." This could stress out the cham as well. I would suggest a misting system. Either a "do-it-yourself" or Herpmist/Mistking/Promist. Trust me, they are an amazing investment for both you and your cham.

Could you please take a pic of her eyes/face for me?

She isn't dehydrated...at least not much, I don't think. Her eyes aren't sunken or anything she is just a shady drinker. Is it possible that chams from arid climates might not drink as much? We just went to the vet 2 weeks ago. She is acclimating still so I have been showering her and she is being treated for parasites. She was recently imported and yes she is a Furcifer lat.

I shower her frequently because she really likes it but I think maybe you are right Cameron - I didn't think about it going through her nose. The habba mist doesn't do anything but splash but I kept it anyway because at least it is like an automatic dripper that goes off hourly.

Here's a pic.

Try putting fresh lettuce and her enclosure and misting it heavily so when she goes to eat it she gets a mouthful of water... Works every time
