You said..."My Chameleon fell about 10 inches onto my dresser "...I doubt that he would have knocked himself out falling such a short distance. Describe what happened before the fall....did you just pick him up out of the cage? Did he appear to be okay when you took him out of the cage, if so?
he got out of his cage and was chilling in my room as i let him when he wants out, i picked him up to put him back and he jumped out of my hand, he's never done this before and he hit the dresser.
I am far from a vet but it sounds like the poor thing hit hard.
It doesn't sound like things are going to end well sadly. usually animals will release their bowels in their final moments. In good conscience i couldn't really give you any advice... i am not a vet. I have no medical training in animals . I've had to revive an injured reptile but a Monitor lizard with brain parasites is far from a chameleon who fell ...
I really hope things go well... Was the wind knocked out of him? or maybe broken ribs?
i've moved him to a warm moist paper towel and placed him in a warm spot, i'll keep spraying him and hope for the best, seems all i can do....here's hoping he makes it.
i think his bones are intact, i think the wind was knocked out of him, yes, but he's still breathing.... if he makes it till morning, i'm going to see if i can get him to a vet but until then i just hope he hangs on.
He only took a 10" fall? My Cham got a little greedy today and when I opens his cage to feed him he came running out and reached for my hand and didnt get a good grip. He fell almost 4 feet and was just fine, even eat 30 seconds later. I can't imagine a Cham getting that hurt from such a short fall. Did he get pinched in the drawer? It just don't sound right. Sorry for the mishap, and even more sorry to say from looking at the pix it dosent look good at all.
