My Chameleon has a small cut on his side What Do I Do?

My chameleon seemed to have received a small cut on his side. Less than a millimeter long it looks like a pointy branch caught him by surprise. Is there anything i should do to prevent infection or clean the wound. So far i have left it alone as i don't know at what level the pain is causing my Chameleon and i don't want to anger him or stress him. Is there something i should be doing to help him?

You could use Neosporin, but I would definitely find out what got him and get rid of it. Keep an eye on it to make sure it don't get infected if it does you may need to see a vet for some antibiotics. Good luck

My advice would be to just watch it. Most of these little cuts and scrapes heal up just fine on their own. It might leave a permanent black mark.

Keep the cut clean with diluted 1/3 of hydrogen peroxide, depends on how deep is that cut,u will apply the topical cream as what brownie already told u.

Do you have zip ties in your cage? If you do make sure they're all cut as close to the lock as possible and make sure the cut isn't angled to prevent them catching on your chameleons skin.

I cut the skin with an exacto knife to get worms out from under the skin of wild caught & then use a dab of liquid new skin for people, when they shed the new skin bandage falls off the healed cut!

I actually had to remove some foliage that was poking out of the back of his terrarium and i reached my hand in a circular path that he loves to move around in and i stabbed my hand on this branch. I supposed it was the one that snagged him and i cut it off. Thanks for the tips his skin is already healing with topical cream :D

That sounds like a good Idea I'll definitely keep this in mind. Thanks
