he HATES it...i try not to mist him and just his plants, but its kinda hard when he is in the plants -.- he geeks out and tries to bite the water at first, then turns all dark, curls up and shuts his eyes...i use warm water, so i dont understand why he hates it, just a little rain, right? help..

does the water spray out warm? I use really hot water and it comes out warm. Mine is not a big fan of it either. I don't know of any trick of getting them to like it. Either they do or they dont.

My hoehnelli will just wander away when i mist, then wander back to drink ( i see him drink regularly)
BUt my veiled despises misting.
Even if the water never touches him, he still hates it. and he freaks the HE double hockey sticks out when its shower time.
As carol said, they like it, tolerate it, or hate you for it.
just make sure he doesnt fall when you do this and hell be fine.
Eventaully Kink got to a point where he can somewhat tolerate it, but he still glares at me each time.

its such a shame, i would have loved to put him in the shower, but not if its going to give him a heart attack -.-

Give him time.
It took Kink almost 3 months to get used to a shower enough that i could put him in it without him trying to commit suicide. And even know he still freaks out sometimes.

^^ I do the same!!

I assume you are using a spray bottle?
I must add , the "mist" from a spray bottle is different from a mister (like a mistking). The spray bottle "mist" has some pressure behind it, but the mistking is like this fineee sprits.

I think the pressure in which you spray the bottle is what they don't like (that and the temp of the water. it takes pretty hot water to get a warm mist).

All of my chams don't mind getting misted with the warm water but my male ambilobe absolutely hates it! He will start shaking his head side to side and try to run from it lol I hate when he does it but its hard to spray around him when he is sitting in the plants lol

Damn im glad I found this cuz i swear my chameleon will freak out everytime I mist anf she'll close her eyes and she wont open them for a while and it was making me wonder if my water was messdd up or if there was somthing wrong with her eyes but nope just stress

This thread is from 2012 but I will put in my 2 cents. You do NOT have to spray them directly from them to benefit. You can spray in their direction where water gently bounces on them, Blueberry does fine with this and I watch him clean his eyes but he is not losing his trust in me.

Your right on the 2012 but wrong on the direct misting.

If your water is “bouncing” then you are not misting, you are SQUIRTING! Big difference!
