My Chameleon is Black and circling her cage

Chams turn a darker color while basking because this helps them absorb heat faster. This darkening is normal...and you may notice that she bends one side toward the warmth and THAT side is darker than her other side. The dark coloration and pacing around here cage was due to stress.

Ironically, chams don't have a lot of temp sensors in the upper part of the body, so they can overheat themselves. She will usually bask until her internal organs reach the optimum temp for digestion, she may start gaping, but then she should move away from the heat. Make sure she has a range of perches closer and farther from the heat. Check that the basking area temp isn't too hot by using a thermometer. The best way to measure temps is to use a non-contact temp gun.
Ok thanks.

For some reason when I try to feed her she will open her mouth and make a wheezing sound and crawl to the corner of the cage. Can someone tell me why she won't eat?

I have a problem... My 3. 5 month old Cham's poo is not looking right... I know its supposed to have the main brown part and a little white/yellow part. But recently he has been pooing 2 brown parts and no white part. But sometimes occasional brown part and small white part. I'm kinda freaking out.. :notworthy::(

Sounds like she's not ready to be hand fed yet. Instead you can sprinkle the feeders amongst the leaves and let her hunt for her food or you can put the cup of feeders on the bottom of the cage or attach it to the side of the cage or to a branch and let her feed herself from the cup. After she's comfortable eating out of the cup (in a few weeks or so) you can try holding the cup while she eats out of it and then later still you can take a feeder out of the cup and offer it to her from your fingers or tongs. She's still very young and she's in a totally new environment so please expect it to take time to gain her trust. In the meantime, have fun watching her stalk her prey!

Yeah I threw some mealworms on the pothos leaves and she climbed down and ate them. And she like opens her mouth and wheezes.

They can hiss like cats when they are trying to scare a potential predator away. Just know when she does that she is fearful. Give her time.

Thx

Is it normal for her to be sleeping during the day? When I woke up I turned her UVB and Basking lamp on and she walked up the vines to sit by the light. For about 1hour she has stayed in the same position sleeping on a leaf (she's not dead because when I open the cage she will crawl away but then she crawl back up there) I read somewhere that sleeping during the day is a bad thing but could it just be her sleeping schedule is messed up from being shipped in a box without sunlight?

what do you mean by "sleeping"? Do you mean being very still in one spot or eyes closed?

Ok going down to the store today to get a bigger one but here it is
I'm still fairly new to this as well but that looks great now! Lots of vines and places for her to hide. I agree with others here, sometimes I have to really look for Chloe to find her. As far as just getting started, you've come to the right place for the best advice! Good luck and congrats on your new Cham!

She was staying still with her eyes closed and she would walk around with her eyes closed. But I put her cage outside for 30min and now she is running all over the cage and she caught one of the crickets I have running free in the cage.
