you say "had a dripper", if this is so then misting once a day is NOT enough. You should be misting your cage down for 3-5 minutes 3 times a day. You need a PLAIN calcium without d3. What type of calcium with d3 are you using? Use the one with the d3 a couple of times a month and get a multivitamin to use a couple of times a month as well. You do not need a heat bulb for night. First of all the cage should be dark. Unless your temps are getting into the low 50's then no heat is necessary. If it does get down to those temps, then get a ceramic heater that does not have light. If you have noticed a change in him since adding the Veild to the room, then put some type of divideer between the cages. how many hours a day is he exposed to UV light either by the bulb or outside?

He's exposed to uv like 9 hrs a day. I first started using a uv florescent bulb from.hone depot, then as soon as I got my veiled I put a legitimate 5.0 uvb.

can your two chameleons see each other through their cages? if they can, you should put some cardboard or something in between the cages so they can not see each other. If they can see each other they will be stressing out because they are territorial, especially the veileds

to my knowledge home depot does not sell UV bulbs. They sell florescents but not uvb, and especially do not sell ones that are made for the health and well being of chameleons. So how long have you had your chameleon and how long was he exposed to the incorrrect lighting from home depot? how much uvb was he getting outside everyday?

Because that is not the issue for their illness. You asked for help because they are sick. But you are doing nothing to get to the cause. All you want to know is what kind so you can breed it.

That is not what this section is for- this is the Health Clinic. Unless that cham becomes healthy it does not matter what kind it is.

With this I am walking away,

No, you're not, if you were you'd fill out the entire form as asked atleast 10 times on this thread. It's about health. Not what kind he is just so you can breed him. You're just being slightly ignorant now, you know he's sick but you're barely doing anything to get the info you need, even though it's all here, all you have to do is fill out the form.

wow no need to call people names here. Let me explain something to you - the title of your post stated "my chameleon is sick", now had you titled it "please help me identify my chameleon", you probably would have gotten a ton of responses. So by starting it off the way you did, and then telling us you want to breed a "sick" chameleon on top of it....well, we are all members here because we all share a love and respect for these magnificent creatures. Breeding is not just something you jump into. First you need to learn the basics of husbandry(set up and care) which I am sorry to say if you were using a light from home depot...well let's just say you did not do your research very well. From the looks of your pic, you could have a bb ambilobe, a nosey be, an ambanja or maybe even a sambava(as they show blue coloration in the early stages). It is hard to say as they change rapidly. I just hope if you do decide to breed that you get your set up in order and make sure your chameleon is 100% healthy before you do so.
Good luck to you.

What an asshole...

Hmmm. Interesting.

So what is it? You want to know what locality your panther is? Well you need to post some proper pictures - and not just a small avatar version - so we can identify and sex it for you. Here is an excellent "How To" on posting pics: https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-post-photos-video-3609/
If your pet is sick then you have to fill out that health check form in it's entirety before we can even make a guess as to what is what up and offer suggestions. The choice is yours but there will be no more name calling on my time.

You said..."After all the help from everybody unthinkable its the lack of vitamins"...where did you get that idea from??

You said.."what kind of vitamins should I be giving him everyday"....you don't use vitamins every day...calcium is used on each feeding and (again) that's a mineral. I told you what supplements I used and how often for each.

If you don't keep your chameleon healthy you won't have to worry about what morph he is or about breeding him because he will die.

Home depot may sell "full spectrum" lights but none of the home depots I've ever been in sell "full spectrum including UVB" lights. The two are not the same.

I'm so confused.

You want us to help indentify him as well? Great, more than happy to, just post clear photos of him for us to see. You want to eventually breed right? Ok, fine, we'll help you with that when we get to it. But as it stands, if your chameleon is sick he will not get to breeding age.

So far I think that you should:
1. Get proper supplements - TWO phosphorous-free calcium powders, one with and one without vitamin D3, and one multivitamin. The plain calcium should be used at every feeding and the others only twice monthly.
2. Mist much more frequently - His wrinkly skin may be due to a lack of hydration. You should mist at least 3-4 times daily, preferably for longer than a couple minutes. The non-brown part of poop should be white, not yellow, signaling proper hydration.
3. Make sure to fill in the health form in GREAT DETAIL and provide more photos if you have them.

Again, we must help get your chameleon HEALTHY before we can guide you with BREEDING. Pleeease help us help you!

Thanks everybody. I just felt that people were being rude. I know the the main thread was please help ,my CHAMELEON is sick. Once you guys answered my questions to his health ,i knew what the problem was. Then I asked a question of what kind of CHAMELEON it is ,after the fact I knew why he was sick. I just felt like i was picked on in a way. Sorry if I upset any of you

It is too bad you got off to a bad start on here but it doesn't have to be like that for the future. It was good of you to apologize, so I say put all that behind and try and work and on getting your chameleon healthy. Don't shy away if you have questions, cause we really are here to help. Everyone was just concerned for your chameleon, thats all. hope you get things squared away with your chamelon and he gets on the right track. Good luck with him.

Please realize that when it comes to a sick pet the priority for people on this forum is to get to the facts as quick as possible so they can help with what could be a critical issue. Have you ever noticed a veterinarian in an emergency situation wants the facts and then wants a client out of the room so they can get down to getting the pet the care it need? I think that is what you experienced on this forum. I know it might have seemed harsh to you... but that is what is needed to help in hopes of not loosing one.

I hope that the health of your Panther will improve. Please remember to ask if you feel there is a problem ... you have some very knowledgeable people that will be there to help you.;)
