My female is digging tunnels in her tree pot

So tonight I was doing some cleaning and tiding up with my 2 veild Chams. I noticed in the bottom of my females cage was a lot of dirt from her potted tree. Sure enough upon closer inspection there are 2 tunnels dug out in the pot. :D

I am planning on getting a smaller flower pot 2morrow and putting it in her cage beside her potted tree and fill with sand/eco earth mix.

I got her at the beginning of the month and they said she was "about" 6 months old! My question is when will I know she has laid her eggs? I believe I have read that she will tunnel then fill it in when done laying her eggs, is this right? Does she turn a certain color or is that only when she has mated?

Again thanks in advance!

Congradulations

My Graceful Chameleon did the same thing. I knew she was gravid because she had gotten so big that I could even see the shape of eggs in her belly. Because of this I made sure I had a container full of play sand/ potting soil mixture that was wet enough to clump together in your hand but not too wet. This way the tunnel will not cave in on her. When I notice she started digging in the plant containers in her cage I moved her into the egg laying bin I had prepared. That night she laid 61 eggs and completely covered them over. I made sure she had lots of water and calcium coated crickets to replenish her. I would recommend a clear container so you will have some idea as to where the eggs are.

Thanks everyone! I have gotten her a laying bin and now she isn't digging anywhere lol but it is there for when she is ready!

Thanks Dez on the video it helped clear up a few things wait a lot of things!!!
