My female pygmy:D

Yeah .... I was thinking that too ... although I only have 1 Brev to compare with. What type of Pygmy is that anyways??

Dyesub Dave. :D

spectrum yes. Yeah shes not been doing to well lately:( Ive been askin questions on a UK pygmy forum (specialise in pygmys) So yeah..Shes a spectrum adult not sure how old..

Could you answer some of these questions? We would need to know some about her habitat, lighting, food, supplements. She looks like she needs some help, and we'd love to see her looking better. Are there some specific issues you are concerned about? Has she seen a vet?

Cage Info:
Cage Type - What kind of cage are you using? What is the size?
Lighting - What kind of lighting are you using? How long do you keep the lights on during the day?
Temperature - What temperature range have you created? Basking spot temp? What is the temperature at night?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Location - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas?

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon.
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What kind of schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What are you dusting your feeders with and what kind of schedule do you use?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings.
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
Current Problem - The current problem that you are concerned about.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - 10 gallon tank
Lighting - access to reptisun 10.0 tube from around 18 inches
Temperature - 22-24C and drops around 5-10C at night maybe less
Humidity - around 70,,maintaned threw a mist once or twice a day
Plants - no live plants
Location - on top of wardrobe no high traffic etc very out of way

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - female spectrum pygmy adult no idea how old
Feeding - 5-6 pinhead crix every other day sometimes 3 days..supplimented via euro reps repton insect dusting suppliment and on other days calypso calcium powder
Watering - misting. I saw her drinking once 2 days ago
Fecal Description - look normal. same as my veileds but smaller
History - WC kept with a lot of other pygmys in around a 38gallon until sold
Current Problem - skinny (although recently laid 2 eggs) Dehydrated. Eyes not open much

10.0 is way too strong for a pygmy-that may explain the eye issues. I would turn off the UVB until you can find something along the lines of a 2.0. It isn't a compact bulb is it? Regardless turn it off and make sure your temps are in the very low 70's.

no its tube. Ok Well I dont know if ill be able to get hold of one atm i might have to let her spend some time outside or something as its a bit sunny now aswell.

She would actually be fine for quite awhile without any UVB. Don't put her outside to cook in a glass tank!

Wow-I just opened up the pictures-I would say near death. I would mist that girl good without drowing her but my bets are on her not making it. WC's pygmies are sometimes not that easy. You really don't know what parasite load or what age they are.

Pygmys don't really need that much UV light. They spend most of their lives so close to the forest floor that it's really not necessary. She may also have UVB overexposure, which could be causing her to have her eyes closed.

It can be very dangerous for a chameleon.

I would mist her really well, turn off that UV light and take her to a vet. Like now.

I thought the same thing, but was afraid to say so. BUt sometimes pygmies just look a little bit like that (not quite to that extent), especially when you're trying to take a photo. I have some chams that will "suck in the tummy" (show ribs) and somehow even sink their eyes in a bit when I try to take a photo. So, I was hoping that might be the case with this girl. Hopefully she's not as bad off as she looks.

She needs LOTS of live plants. That will help the humidity stay high. Probably a whole new set up.

Plus all the water and stuff that you guys said.

I know someone said take her to the vet, and that I even asked if she's gone to the vet, but, what do you think, Julirs, would a vet do anything for her or would it be a lot of stress and $$ without much good result? It just seems that vets can't do a lot for pygmies.

i just looked at the pictures again.... shes definately not doing well... i would say the first thing u need to do is get her some water, lots of it, if she even has the energy... then try getting her some food... From the pics i could guess that shes not in any condition to do either of the two and id say she doesnt have long... to be honest id say 2 weeks is optimistic

Yes I agree with the above two. Water is probably the most important thing right now (along with getting rid of the 10.0). I hope she pulls through! Good luck.

The picture thing is so true! I can't get a picture of my male Brev. without his eyes looking sunken in!
I also agree on the Vet thing-there really isn't alot the Vet can do for these tiny guys--and it is stressful.

Good point everyone, about the vet. :( I just hope she does ok!

I dont have any vets that will look at lizards around here. UK is still way behind on this sort of stuff. I wilmist her alot more then but not drown her and make sure I feed her every day (its a shame i was given the wrong infomation but im trying my best) (N) thanks guys. Oh yeah her ribs dont really show to be honest i think she was scared because i took her out of her enclosure and everything else...
