My first Runty Report

I spent some time with a fellow CF Member over the weekend as I traveled to get some Melleri for my breeding project. Janet, @jajeanpierre, was so gracious to let me stay with her and we went together to go look at the recent import.

At the end of my visit, Janet decided that sweet little Runty should come live with me. I have been a fan of Runty since the beginning rooting her on to survive. She weighed in at 4 grams this morning. I will make sure this sweet little girl gets the best care possible and I will share her journey along the way.

No, a Trioceros quadricornis quadricornis. She was stunted at hatch with not enough room for her lungs. I honestly thought she would die soon after hatch. She's a survivor, that little girl and she needed a special home. Runty is a very lucky little girl!

Joel asked me for her hatch date and rather than trying to find my written records buried under the pile of mess that is supposed to be my desk, I just looked through photos for them hatching. Look what I found--a picture of Runty still in the box she was incubated in! She's the little one on the left. As soon as I opened the picture, I immediately recognized her blocky rib cage and checked the markings. So for all you Runty fans, here she is on her hatch day, December 6th.
