i took my brothers female Jackson cham because he couldn't care for it properly about 3 weeks ago.

they transported her on their hand, in a Jeep. so she came to us freezing DVDs freaked the fuck out. she showed clear signs of mbd (slow, discolored tongue, mouth didn't close completely) but she wanted to eat and managed a few crickets on her own.

she's only been eating 2 crickets from tweezers a day definitely and i was hoping since i had a shallow cup set up that she was feeding from that as well. she was also drinking fine.

well i wake up today i found drops of blood on her leaves and bottom. she's in a tank, in a screened enclosure so she could climb out. i couldn't find her for awhile but when i did I was horrified.

she was on her side. the side i could see was saturated with blood. and it looked like a little in her mouth as well. when i picked her up, her other side was wet as well ): there were quite a few drops in the tank, going up and out. i find her right outside the glass tank ): she definitely fell out but was bleeding beforehand.

internal injuries? i fed her mealworms a couple days before, could that be it?

well, was she bleeding anywhere on the outside you could see? No wounds or anything???

First of all I am SO sorry to hear of your loss! It is devastating losing a chameleon, no matter how long you had it. My first one was only with me 10 days before I lost him.

Do you have any other pets in your home, like a cat or something? Was all of the blood coming from inside or did she have wounds?

That is terrible.... Was there anything in the set up that could scratch or cut her? Or like Molly said, were there any other pets?? I am so so so terribly sorry about your loss

i do have nanny other pets, but none but my other cham and 3 tortoises live inn that room, nothing else got it.

i thought it was my male veiled because when he see her, he would freak out. but nope, he was happily in his cage.

she was recovering so i had her in a 10 tank inside a large screened enclosure with vines going out to her favorite banana tree in the outside cage. she mostly stayed in 10g because it was warmer but i saw her on her tree a lot too. inside the 10g were paper towel liner, some fake plastic vines along with a pothos. and a fat brown vine from petco.

and as got the bleeding, there were no wounds. it looked like her insides exploded and the boss just seeped through her skin. it was both her whole sides, from front legs to back, just a blob of blood. it want dripping off, just like saturated skin or fur. i think the dripping came from her mouth.
