my new baby panther. Is it a boy or girl?

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the chameleon society and bought my first panther chameleon today. I'm super excited to raise and watch this one grow into healthy panther cham, but also am skeptical of what gender mine may be. I did a ton of research before i bought it and even practiced trying to identify males and females of chameleon owners across the net and was still left with a confused look on my face when it came to choosing time. After an hour of choosing I finally picked one. This one stuck out to me as it was the only one out of the bunch showing a more vibrant color way than the sort of pale looking others the vendor had to offer. Plus this was Cham was showing off hanging upside down the ceiling of his or her vivarium which seemed like the perfect candidate for me. Anways I've heard to look at the base of the tail in order to figure the sex but I'm still unsure so I've attached a couple of photos with hopes you guys could help identify the sex for me. This ones about 1-2 months old. What do y'all think?

I think you have a female! I am basing my opinion of the thickness of the tail area near the vent. You could post a few more pics of the tail and maybe a little more close up, but from what I see I say female.

Thanks you both so much for your help.. I can't wait to see what she'll look like in the next few months. I'm so planning on getting a male though and maybe I'll breed them.

my female panther about 3 months old , I agree with the other post , looks female to me
